Hello, I have a question about Phantasy Star Online. ^.^

So, My question is simple, would you buy Euro/Pal (for Dreamcast) Phantasy Star Online for 11 €?
And could someone give me a picture of DC's sealed games...

Thanks.

Love, Captain Qb.

I just bought it for 19 American dollars. Sealed and shipped from England. I am gonna play it online because I love my DC and want to enjoy this game before they take it offline.

Private servers may or may not still exist. I really haven't looked into that in a long time.

They only took the US servers offline. The EU and JP servers are still alive and well.

The PAL version has always been free to play, but just about a month ago they dropped the fees from the JP version so that is now free to play as well.

As a (former) PSO addict, long live PSO. :)

There are private servers for Phantasy Star, however unless you already have a broadband adaptor for your dreamcast I wouldn't bother with going that route. If you're willing to spend the money adaptors run something insane like $160 on ebay. However you can download (or import) the Japanese PC version and play through the same servers for free. Or then there's dial-up, but lags not fun.

Wait wait wait,

If I've got the US version of PSO (ver 2) can I still play online???

I haven't even tried because I thought there'd be no way. I'm willing to put up with some lag - I'll just rig my DC modem onto my broadband connection by going through my PC.

Here is a link that might help you out:

I've never tried out the private Dreamcast Servers, but I do run a private Gamecube server that runs pretty well.

Why not just play PSO:Blue Burst? (http://www.psobb.com/index.php) It's out on PC and its basically PSOv2 + more. $8 a month iirc.

Is the GameCube port of PSO still being supported? I've been considering buying a GC broadband adapter just so I can finally play my favorite 'Cube game online like it was meant to be played. I've never played any game online before, because i'm of the belief that all people suck. LOL

Yes, Sega is still supporting the GC version of PSO. It's been a while since I subscribed, but I think it's $8 / month and you get access to Ep1&2 online and Ep3 online.

GC PSO will also have the potential to be online forever, due to the unofficial servers (which would be cool to schedule games on).

Either way, it's cool to play online if you're able to get a hold of a BBA for a decent price. If you're serious about playing, you'll also eventually need a keyboard. I picked up a cheapie keyboard for about $10 when the game was still new.
