When I got back into gaming, I had first thought that games were getting a bit too complicated. Yet after a good while of playing, it seemed like a piece of cake. Again, this article uses the misconception that most gamers are in their teens. I feel this is not true. In fact, all the gamer friends I do have range from 20-35 (or more). Age has nothing to do with the learning curve of games. Of course if you weren't really around games much of your life and tried to get into it, you're going to feel overwhelmed. I can go on and on about this. The bottom line is I feel that games ARE NOT getting to complicated.

The article focused on casual gamers, and to them I can see how today's games are much more complicated compared to those of years ago. Someone who's been gaming for years won't notice much of a difference, but to someone who's last video game experience was Super Mario Bros., of course today's games will seem a bit intimidating.

I like having a nice balance of simple and more complicated games to choose from. Sometimes it's nice to relax with a game like Katamari or Nintendogs, and some days I'm in an RPG or FPS mood. Variety is a good thing!
