View Full Version : Playstation 2 European Automobile Color Collection?

About 2 years ago, i bought a Snow White automobile color PS2 from this collection from Ebay brand new for $350.00 shipped. And i have been using it as my normal PS2 to game on, but i just realized that these babies are rare. They only made 666 of each color in each region. USA, Japan, and Europe. So considering that only 665 other people have a USA Snow White system, how much could i get for mine on EBAY? I do not see them any more on Ebay, and i am sure some collector would want it pretty badly, even though it has been used. It is in Mint condition, and i never used the Snow White Controller, instead i use a regular import ceramic white (even though it does not quite match, since it is just white plastic as opposed to white car paint) controller to play on it. I still have the original box, with all of the original paperwork also. Do you guys think i could at least get my money back on it, or since it is used, will a collector only want a brand new sealed system? If that number is true, that is pretty rare.

I've been seeing these things go for $200-250 on ebay. There's two problems, first there don't seem to be many people collecting limited edition PS2's. Second, most people have no idea that these systems exsist and think that they're custom paint jobs.

Shhhhh! You'll bring Gemini_Pheonix back here if you keep talking about these things! X_x

You have to wonder: why 666 each? I mean, they could have gone with 665 or 667 no problem. I guess Sony really IS evil...

the link you posted isn't quite right either...
There were 666 of them made for each reigon, per color. 666 for Japan, 666 for US, 666 for europe.
I'd imagine they're a bitch to find sealed as the original instructions asked the buyer to open the package and inspect the console for flaws in the paint job.

Moving to classic gaming since nothing is being bought or sold here.

I do not want this thread in Classic Gaming. I put it in Buying and selling for a reason. So please do not be rude, and put it back were it belongs. PS2 is not a part of classic gaming, and i had it in buying and selling because i plan on selling it, and i need feedback. You should be a little smarter than that?

No offence mate, but you dont pay for the bandwidth of this site so i think the people that do have a right to choose where it goes. If its really a B&S thread, then state your price!
Besides as Anagrama rightly said, youll be luring the 'thief' back here, which we dont want!

Yeah, I should have moved it to modern gaming, I'll punt it over there now. It doesn't belong in buying and selling since nothing is being bought or sold and price checks do not belong in buying and selling. Since you did not state in your original post that you "plan" on selling it, and I am not possessed with the miraculous intelligence of mind reading, I moved it out of B+S.
If you decide that you want to sell it go ahead and post a new thread in buying and selling.

O.K. thanks, but not everyone who post in buying and selling is selling. Some are just getting quotes, like i was for future reference on selling on Ebay. And who is this guy that everyone is freaking out thinking that he is coming back?

Gemini-Phoenix made a thread about ripping off the British postal service by filing false claims. He then said that he didn't do it, and was only educating people about trolls.
He happens to have one of the larger sealed game collections (expensive games as in Suikoden) on the 'net. And he still lives with his parents. Draw your own conclusions. Personally, I don't think he's that bad a guy, just a bit...strange, especially if his post was indeed untrue. Why ruin your rep like that?
He likes rare items like the one you have, and had one in his signature. It was one of the red versions of the automobile painted PS2, though, and he'd pontificate about it ever so often.

Staying on topic
Please limit your topics to BUYING, SELLING and TRADING items only. Asking questions of an item's worth, or what is a good price for an item does not really belong here. These types of question should be posted in the Video Game Forum (or Everything eBay if you see it on there), or even go look up the Online Rarity Guide. The only exception to this is an attempt to resolve a deal here (e.g. if people go missing and haven’t been heard from in a while).

this guy's site in the second post says "restock soon." is this true? or is that what he puts when he's is out of stock.

I dunno about that - he brags about it enough, but I'm pretty sure there's a few other folks with waaaay more impressive sealed collections - not just PSX and DC games that any schmuk could have bought sealed within the last 5 years.
