Thanks to gum_drops.
You may be thinking, "Big deal, it's just a Dreamcast."
To me, it's a great feeling obtaining something new to you. I've never owned one.

Congrats. The DC is definitely in the running for my favorite console of all-time. So many great games and such originality, it's a shame its life was cut short by the Sony hype.
Definitely track these down as soon as possible:
- Jet Grind Radio
- Bangai-O
- Power Stone (2 preferably, but 1 is less expensive)
- Virtua Tennis
- Sword of the Berserk: Guts' Rage
- Cannon Spike
Also, don't forget about the emulation possibilities (www.dcemulation.com).

I've been trying to track down dreamcast posters. I can not find any. Ebay turns up diddly squat. Kind of dissapointing.
Games, aren't too hard to come by. I'm calculating that by the end of next year I'm have a complete USA release collection,...at least I hope...maybe somewhat close?
As of right now I'm waiting for about 10 games to ship to me. Most of them being purchased off of the nice people on this here forum. For now, I'll have to play the demo disk that game with the system.

Congrats on the snag, the DC is definately a fave of myself and a lot of other forum members.
This thread may be better suited for classic gaming though, since it's about your new Dreamcast and all.

Ah sorry once again. I can never really decipher which section to put topics in. I guess that'll come over time. I'm still a newbie. My apologies.

Sweet deal man, but try to stay away from third party controllers. They have been known to blow the ports, I lost 2 Dreamcasts this way.
Honestly the Dreamcast was my favorite system of all time, mainly cause they had an online structure that allowed you to surf the net "I joined DP on my DC", share save files, and created data. I like that kind of open online structure, and being Sega and a console system made it even that more sweet. Xbox can cram all that "marketplace" stuff as far as i'm concerned.
Also the times spent playing Soul Calibur, Power Stone, Hydro Thunder, Madden, Quake 3 Arena "I actually had a helluva flame war with the Q3 computer forum, but that's another story, lol" and others with friends was some of the best multiplayer days ever, not to mention...........
Phantasy Star Online!
Ok PSO ain't what it used to be, but man was it fun while it lasted...and yes, even at this point I will admit the hacking was fun. The first time I killed someone and stole their double saber I was giddy, but of course the fun didn't last and some hacker managed to fry my modem, ummmm, yeah, after soul dropping me and turning me into a NOL that is. :(
BUT ANYWAY.....This board and Phantasy Star Online have very fond memories with me cause I got to play with members on the board and it was very interesting, lol.
Hell PSO was just the shit back then, I ate, drank, and shit that game.
Grats, and don't forget to add "Shadowman" to that list!

Good luck with that. Despite the relatively small library (comparatively), there are some fairly expensive (at least to me) games to grab for the DC. The fighting games tend to be a little more expensive as a whole, and then there are a few variations and things to know about (not to mention the pretty scarce Web Browser 3.0). Not to discourage you, but even if you can't manage to track all of them down, it's a great system for playing the games too.
As for posters, I don't really know of anything outside of what stores like Gamestop and EB were sent for promotion, and even then, that doesn't seem to be the kind of thing that pops up on ebay with an regularity.

Seeing a person finally get a Dreamcast = Me totally stoked about life, or something like that.
Enjoy it man. Even though its not that old, I have developed some damn fond memories of the dreamcast, and I continue to make new ones.

Those are sexy pics man.
Enjoy your Dreamcast. An awesome system that went way before it's time.

Those pics get me all warm and fuzzy, the system is THAT GOOD.
JGR is in my top 5 games of all time.
I would say the DC is probably the best system to collect for right now. You can get some great oddball imports that have low prices to justfy the risk (Tokyo Bus Guide comes to mind) , The advantage that most of the greatest games are easy to come by and cheap, and lastly just the sheer amount excellence the system as a whole eminates.
Oh, and some of the hard to find games will be dirt cheap in the wild, I found Midway Arcade Classics Vol 2 for $6.99 at an EB!

Congrats all around! To you, for the new DC, and to me, for 1500 posts on this reply and 40,000+ Meseta! :P
Yeah, I too never owned a DC, til I won an online message board contest for a member's giveaway DC! He also included Shenmue, Evolution and Grandia II what a nice bloke. It was around late 2002 IIRC. Now, I own about 35 titles... it's not my favorite system but I've learned to like and respect it over the years. Certainly, 2000-2002 I never understood the love/hype for the DC. I was a major Saturn buff, and never gave the DC any real love.
Til I got it for free!
Enjoy the system. There's still a few titles I'm looking to get yet, but am in no hurry to do so.
