Did they funk up the controls in Megaman X Collection?

I'm considering getting MegaMan X Collection for my Gamecube, but I've heard that Capcom neglected to fix the main complaint from MegaMan Anniversary Collection, the wonky controls.

So, can anyone who has played the game, does the Gamecube version allow you to re-map the buttons, or did we get dissed by Capcom again?
