In the latest issue of OPM, there's a list on pages 92-93 of what they thought were the 20 worst games ever made for a PlayStation system. Of course, this list covers PSX and PS2 games, and isn't limited to system exclusives. Here's the list:

20 - Street Raquetball (PSX)
19 - Spec Ops (PSX)
18 - South Park: Chef's Luv Shack (PSX)
17 - Shadow Tower (PSX)
16 - Racing (PSX)
15 - MTV's Celebrity Deathmatch (PSX/PS2)
14 - The Lost World: Jurassic Park (PSX)
13 - Hooters Road Trip (PSX)
12 - The Fifth Element (PSX)
11 - Batman Beyond: Return Of The Joker (PSX)

1 - Catwoman (PS2)

I have no idea how they found TMNT 2 to be any worse than the boring drab TMNT.

I also don't see how they can limit it to just one Spec Ops.

And what's with the "attack the budget titles" shit? Dragonball GT was far shittier than anything on that list.

I am impressed they actually slapped a 989 game in there though.

I thought Shadow Tower was a great game! A little slow, but a fun action dungeon-crawler. DBZ: UB22 needs a place on there - worst PS game I've ever played.

Agreed there are way shittier titles on PSOne than what was mentioned... Obviously the editors of that article never played:

Fox Hunt
Rise 2: Ressurection
PO'ed
Spice World
Psybadek
ECW (either)
Frank Thomas' Big Hurt Baseball
Mortal Kombat: Special Forces
Mortal Kombat: Mythologies Subzero
Mike Tyson's Boxing
VIP
Army Men (Pick One)
Kurt Warner's Arena Football

The list goes on. and on.

Why is Catwoman #1? All the reviews I've seen gave it a very semi-decent review. The TMNT games, altho not as good as old ones, are far from being on any bottom 20 lists.

Wheres Death by Degrees, That 50 Cent game, any of the Army Men games and Shadowman?

I can only presume that the reason that Virus (the one based on the Jamie Lee Curtis movie / comic strip) did not make the list is because the writers were afraid that someone may actually go out and play it.

A few execptions aside, that list only seems to be, well, moderately bad. What are other people's top tens?

Perhaps they were confusing Catwoman: The Movie with Catwoman: The Game? And if they're including super-hero games, why did they omit the legendary PS1 version of Fantastic Four?

.... Oh my, I had quite forgotten about that. For some reason I really want to play it now.

EDIT: Oh and how about The Crow - City Of Angels and The City Of Lost Children? (at least that was a cool film though.)

Anybody ever played a game called Rat Attack. I picked it up for like 3 bucks and after I played it I found out why it was 3 bucks. It was a 3D lemmings type game geared towards rats. It reminded me of Blasto or Rascal but totally stank. I'm not sure that I've ever played a worst game for the PS1.

Perfect weapon was a horrible horrible horrible game. Should be in the top 7.

i disagree with fugitive hunter and narc for ps2 being on that list.i played thru and had fun with both of those games.while there not great games, there are good, and there is plenty of worse games they could of used instead of those two games.

All in all I can agree with most of the list but I think Fifth Element should have been bumped up a few notches.

How about Simpsons Wrestling? Or Hellboy?

There are much crappier game around. Try to remember but only remeber Revolution X and some cheap crap (not to mention earlier called games) . But maybe this is the reason they didn't mention the worst ones, you forget a lot of them within no time.

I'm not going to complain about the list since I've only actually played one game on it (Street Racquetball, and yes it belongs there). I just don't understand why they put PS2 and PS1 games on the same list.

I didn't play any of the games on that list. Why don't they do a 25 worst ps 1 games of all time and 25 worst ps 2 games of all?

I may not of played Ninja: Shadow of Darkness on ps 1, but that game was called one the worst 25 ps 1 games of all time by gameinformer. None the games from gameinformer's worst ps1 games of all time list got mentioned by OPM.

I expected games like Dragon Heart:Fire&Steel,Floating runner, and Time Commando to be mentioned by them.

Iron & Blood for the PS1 needs to be on that list.

As does O.D.T., Bubsy 3D, and 007 Racing. Ugh.

The problem is the same as if it was a top 20 list. With over 2500 games to choose from (I think?), you can't cover all of them.

Yeah, same here. I love that game. For a FMV game, it's actually made pretty well.

I definitely agree about Perfect Weapon and Ninja (Most laughable game ever!). What about Criticom? No worst of list is complete without it!

I still have no clue why TMNT 2 is in the bottom 10 of ALL PS1/PS2 games ever. Fighting Force was worse than it for christs sake.

I thought I was the only one who liked fugitive hunter. I didn't think it was as bad as being said. When playing the game I did not think bad bad game. I think that one was killed right out the box due to the political climate.
I'm on the fence with blasto. I fogot about fighting force. Talk about overhype.

Anyone remember that psx triply play game where you subtitute a batter the guy steps up to the plate backwards with no way to change it but to strikeout or walk. That happened in the first game we played out of the package.

On another note. For awhile I was thinking of starting a topic bascially asking has anyone ever played through a Horribly panned horrible controlled game Ex like Drake. to the end.

I just couldn't stomach perfect weapon or drake the controls and camera were killing me. I know there is someone out there a sucker for punishment that carried the flag to the end. You Probably deserves a medal. please post your tormenter.

Regarding Triple Play, that glitch of a guy batting facing away from the plate happened to me quite often. However, if you had him swing, he could stil hit the ball...

The first baseball game was worse...Bases Loaded: Triple Play or something like that. The players looked like mannequins.

I forgot all about Hellboy. That had some terrible graphics. You'd have an easier time controling Hellboy with chopsticks and it was lack luster in progression. It reminded me of Kings Field 2 with absolutly no reason to play.

I think a lot of people are overly critical of Revolution X. It does have some play value though it is tedius and does seem to be overwhelming in the computers favor like your not supposed to win.

Am I the only person who didn't mind The Lost World? Actually I don't think I played the PSX version, but I played (and own) it on Saturn and it's the same game, IIRC.

Hmm, I just looked on GameFAQs reviews and the PSX version has two 3's and a 1, whereas the Saturn version has a 4 and a 9. :hmm:

Anywho, shouldn't this list be full of like, Army Men, and Barbie games?

Why isn't the whole Army Men series on that list? They could have just put it under the label Army Men Series And no DBZ: UB22 on that list? I admit to being a huge DBZ fan but I will not let my love for the series blind me to the fact that the game was cow manuer manifested in disc form.

Mike Tyson's Boxing ? They made another game featuring the Tyson name?!

My nephew made me play the PS1 Teletubbies game, it was HORRIBLE. I couldn't get past a single screen! Definately deserves to be on there, one of the worst things I've ever seen, let alone PLAYED.

Yeah, that sounds like me. So long as the game can be bought for pennies, or emulated, I'll probably play it through to the end. I think that I finish more awful games than average ones.

Mike Tyson's Boxing ? They made another game featuring the Tyson name?!

Sure did. With heavy advertising and tv commercials, from what I remember.

Someone may have a better grasp of the dates, but it was sometime during his series of matches with Holyfield. I'm pretty sure it was around that time period but maybe another poster can clarify or correct if that is not the case.

I bet the company wasn't that much into Tyson. They probably just wanted to get a few sales from people who owned Tyson's NES game, saw a commercial for the new one and went "Cool." Hard to tell how many people bought it assuming similar gameplay to Punch Out. Then again, the played out anti-hero culture was pretty big back then (late 90's/early 00's). He appeared on a Wrestlemania so I guess making a video game around the same time makes sense.

I have to agree completely with Kiss pinball. What a piece of shit.

Any votes for Cyberspeed? Or Tokyo Highway Battle? I would so much rather play Hooters Road Trip than that crap.

I knew one of the Xtreme games would make it on here (3xtreme). I'm just glad it wasn't 2xtreme, I absolutely love that game. I still play it. No joke.

Simpsons Wrestling...man, I remember I couldn't wait for it to come out, and I played it, I was just in awe on how awful it was. It's like there was absolutely no thought in making the game.

Any worst of list for the PlayStation systems without Bubsy 3D is a piece of shit.
