Yes, I know Sharpie is permanent marker. But I figured that someone here might have a trick as to removing it from N64 carts. Mind you, this is on the cart itself, not the label, so it'll hopefully be removable. If not, then it can't hurt to ask.

Any tricks or tips or products or whatever that can help me out?

Go to your local supermarket and buy Mr Clean Magic Eraser. It works great.

Already got you covered in the Technical and Restoration forum (on the first page no less). Why is it no one checks there for these types of things? ;)

Good luck. :D

I imagine this thread will be locked or moved (or both).

Seriously? Any special instructions on how to use it?

DONT USE MR CLEAN MAGIC ERASERS!

They distort the plastic texture on carts/systems and leave a weird residue or something... Things don't look right after using it- mostly dark colored plastic, Harder to notice on light plastic. Regardless, I don't use them anymore for anything game-related.

To get permanent marker off of any type of plastic (cartridges or systems) get a normal Dry-Erase marker and trace over the permanent marker. Then wipe off with a dry cloth. That's all that is needed. No damage of any type to the plastic.

It may take a few tries to get it completely off. It depends on the type of plastic.

For labels, you can do this too, as long as they are glossy and not paper. If they are paper you can just forget about ever getting marker off of it :P

Goo Be Gone works as well but don't get it anywhere near the label...
