2600 Games

Does anyone know how many 2600 games work right with the Genesis Controller..One of my games Astroblast dosn't even funchin(sp) right with the Genny Controller, But it work's fine with the Master System Controller

Uh...they all should, if I'm not mistaken. I don't think the Atari console would be able to tell the difference between an Atari joystick and a Genesis controller, especially since they function in the same way.

Does the Genesis controller have any problems with any other games (besides the 2600)? It could be broken.

I'm pretty sure I have played Astroblast fine with Genesis controllers although I don't recall if I used the original 3-button, the 6-button or both.

Uh, it dosn't work right. I tryed the 6 button & the 3 button one..it dosn't work right.....

I know that games that require the paddle controllers or the keypad won't work right with the atari. I can't recall if that game uses the paddles or not, I'd have to dig it out and try it. But other than games that use the paddles, I've played the games with both the 3 and 6 button controllers.

There are a few 2600 games that don't work with the Genny controller. Ask this question over at AA, I'm sure the experts there will know.

I don't see it that way. The folks on AA are the hardest of the hardcore Atari guys. If we're talking strictly VCS, IMO the knowledge base is stronger there.

Regarding this question though...I'll try it out now, I'd be really surprised if any 2600 games (excluding the games with specialized controllers) did not work with the Genny pad.

He's right. I tried four games with a 6-button Genny joystick (can't find a pad ATM):

Pressure Cooker
Alien
Midnight Magic
Astroblast

All worked fine except Astroblast. You cannot move the cannon...any direction you push in makes you fire, and the buttons do nothing.

Funny, I've never had that problem w/ any other game.
