Repairing Guitar Hero controllers

I was wondering if it was easy to fix guitar hero controllers. I was going to fix them for somebody. The problem is that they "send button presses by themselves".

sounds like it's the micro switches in the 'strings' bar. It's made up of two microswitches (one on the top and one on the bottom) that should be fairly easy to replace.

I dont think I've ever played this game, so I am not too familiar with it. There are many kinds of microswitches. Will any kind work? We are talking about the small "clicky" switches that go right on the pcb, right?
