I recently got a game bit and opened an NES I have never been able to repair. I cleaned the gold connectors with alcohol thoroughly, but there are spots of corrosion.

What cleaner can I use to clean of those spots?

You can try using electronic contact cleaner and some light scrubbing, but your best bet is probably to just replace it with a new 72-pin connector.

This method has been proven again and again the best way to clean your NES connector. I've done it myself and it works fabulously:

Of course, my NES connector wasn't corroded, so YMMV.

Are you talking about the connector inside the NES system or the contacts inside a NES cart? Based on the fact that you mentioned a game bit, I am assuming that you are talking about cleaning the contacts on a game cartridge. IF there is still corrosion, try using a white plastic eraser, and if that doesn't work then go to a really high grit (like 4000 or 6000) sandpaper.
