I would suspect you would get better replies if you posted your questions directly in your post and not just a general subject about questions...but thats just my opinion.... :D

Does anyone have a working Odyssey?

I have won several on eBay, however, none of them have ever worked when I plug them in.

I have sold all but one of them for parts.

Has anyone ever repaired an Odyssey?

Has anyone ever had an Odyssey die on them? what happened?

I have several working Odyssey 2's
I actually find them quite durable, I've never come across a broken one myself...

LOL - The topic is in regards to a 1972 Magnavox Odyssey. ;)

I have a working Odyssey. Its RF box flaked out on me last year at OVGE, but that's the only problem I've had.

If the RF is bad, does that "pass through" still work?

I just started using an RF box from an Odyssey 400 instead - problem solved!

Though I've only hooked three of 'em up in my entire life (the one I originally owned when I was a kid, the one I got much later when I started collecting, and the one I have in the store), I never had a problem with any of them. The biggest issue is finding all of the pieces you need to play any particular game and getting a TV set that's just the right size for the overlays!

We recently hooked one up at the store. You should have seen the wonder in the eyes of our customers that day, especially when most discovered that the system was not only older than they were but older than many of their parents.

Lol! Joe, ever think of getting an old console TV for the store for that 70s feel? :)

By the way, that stupid proprietary connector on an oddysey RF cord. Anyone know what it's called? I hate mickey mouse rigging mine to hook to a TV for lack of a proper RF box. I'd like to search for an adapter, though I know they probably don't exist. But that connector had to have a name!

Many times when people sell Odysseys on Ebay they don't have the game cord or TV switch so there is no way to know if it works or not. If everything is there and it says it is "untested" they are probably lying. Ebay + untested = broken. Also, if the knobs on the controllers aren't turned to the right spot it may see, like the console isn't working when you insert a game. I've had one out of 5 or 6 not work.

One of mine is that "RENEWED" BL99 model.

Is there a diference in value in the different models?
