I stopped at the closest game store during lunch to pick up Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth, and saw this game (published by NIS America) sitting next to it. From a quick look at the box, the game itself looks like it could be interesting, but the reviews on the web are rather sparse at the moment. Has anyone had a chance to try this game out yet? Any impressions?

I was considering picking this up tonight, but not having any money might keep me from it. It'll be mine eventually, I'm sure, just maybe not for a few weeks.

The previews for it looked cool and I love Nippon Ichi (I even liked Generations of Chaos), but yeah, I haven't really seen any full-on reviews of it yet. I'm thinking GameSpot'll get one up later today or tomorrow.

it definately looks pretty promising, but i chose to go with Valkyrie Profile instead for many obvious reasons. One of them being the huge price and availability difference from the original one.

The review in the latest EGM basically ripped this game a new one. Got a 3.0, 4.5, and a 2.0. Even got their "Turd Of The Month" award (or whatever it's called). I remember their main arguments against it was that it suffered form all the usual RPG cliches and was simply not fun to play.

Yeah, the reviews are mixed, I bought both, but only opened valkrie profile... blade dancer looks good, but I am torn on the reviews, some sites rated it good, others bad... so I have a copy on the way from gamefly to try it and if it stinks bad, I will return my copy. I would recommend renting blade dancer first.

Guys, Nippon Ichi America is liscensing games by a lot of other companies for release in America, this isn't really a Nippon Ichi game.

Go watch a video of the gameplay, terribly slow uninteresting turn based combat, sparse and ugly envirorments, this game just looks horrid.

I knew that. Still, anything Nippon Ichi has had their name on at all ever I've at least liked more than most RPGs. I know that isn't the popular opinion (I've never met even one other person that likes Generations of Chaos), but whatever.
