Last night I bought 30 nes games for 50 bucks. I brought them home, and after cleaning kid icarus I pop it in, and its rygar :(
Does anyone have a scan of either of these boards?
It just strikes me as kind of odd for this person to open this up. All the games were pretty groaty. does the rygar chip say taito anywhere?

i've seen very few swapouts, but the really funny ones are the ones sold on ebay as super rare and amazing. There is almost no possibility of this being Nintendo's mistake. Even if it were, there would be no way to prove it. The games are easily swapped by anyone.
Open yours up and take a look at the chips. With the contacts up, the left chip is the prg chip (I say contacts up b/c the writing is usually right side up that way). Rygar would probably say NES-RY-X PRG. The X is the version number and unimportant to us. It also will be on an Unrom board. Kid Icarus is NES-KI-X PRG and on an snrom board. If you have further questions, please provide a picture of the circuit board.
It kinda sucks that you got "cheated" out of Kid Icarus--that is unless you have a rygar cart in the lot... LOL

Thanks! If anything this has further educated me.
The look on my face when I booted it up was like, wth?! Luckly that was the only game.
I did get a copy of tengen tetris, surprised by that.

Does the Rygar cart have Kid Icarus on it?

no, I believe someone switched it out or something. No printing on the cart that states anything but rygar.
