Beck - Black Tambourine *
Black Eyed Peas - Pump It *
Chemical Brothers - Star Guitar *
Fatboy Slim - Gangster Trippin' *
The Go! Team - Bottle Rocket *
Gwen Stefani - Hollaback Girl *
Hoobastank - Born to Lead *
Junior Senior - Take My Time *
Junkie XL - Breezer
Ken Ishii - TBA
Missy Elliot - Lose Control *
Mondo Grosso - various, exclusive to game
New Order - TBD *
Stigmato Inc - Reality Check
TECHRIDERS - TBA

(Starred entries will also have music videos in the game - the others are TBC.)

I must say I am utterly disappointed. The original sold me on the PSP, which I loved for a short time then fell out of love with. There goes the hope that Lumines II would rekindle my love.

HOLLABACK GIRL? WTF?

It doesn't even seem to have added enough new stuff either. Jasoco am cry. I'd rather play Disney Meteos. At least I wouldn't have to put up with Missy Elliot. (And hopefully not Raven "File Under R" Symone or Hillary Duff. ;))

Beck is good for that style of game. The original Lumines wasn't that hot though -- I don't know why everyone was jizzing their pants about it.

I admit that this song list isn't exactly great, but it does look better than the song list on the original. The gameplay was great, but half of the songs drove me crazy. I'd usually turn the volume all the way down when I'd play it.

Oh god, please tell me this is some kind of joke-I am not adverse to the songs (haven't heard of most of them) its just that the funky japanese tunes and the immersive experience is what is so great about the first one. I fear that becoming so mainstream will somehow spoil it for me. What about the console versions, any mention of songs for those?

Alright, out of all those songs, there are only like, 4 or 5 ones that are bad. The rest are ok, and there are a few that I'd call good. + on The Go! Team

Beck is good for that style of game. The original Lumines wasn't that hot though -- I don't know why everyone was jizzing their pants about it.

The Halo effect -- it was the only half-decent game on PSP (and the thin library of that console still makes Lumines stand out) so the media jumped all over it.

Meteos and Lumines, the two flagship puzzle games of this handheld generation, have sold out. Their sequels are trash.

I don't think it's that bad. Sure there's some bad songs but not that many. I really like the beck, chemical brothers, fatboy slim & junkie xl songs so I'm interested in picking it up.

What they need is some Asian Kung-Fu Generation on there.

I like the Fatboy Slim song. I have it.

This is only part of the list though. There's more crap to look forward to.

Give me a Classic Rock Lumines or an 80's Lumines any day.

I'll post the same rebuttal I posted at NeoGAF:
I'm 26 and I can't stand 90% of the stuff out there today. At least not the stuff on the radio. I'm perfectly happy in my Classic Rock and 80's and 90's bubble with the occasional new song. I usually like something new if it's got the right mix. But most of it isn't worth my time.

I'd much rather have more stuff along the lines of the original. None of this mainstream Missy Elliot and Gwen Stefani crap.

Though, if they replaced "Hollaback Girl" with her other slower song "Cool (http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZSearch.woa/wa/DirectAction/search?submit=edit&term=gwen%20stefani%20cool)", I'd be slightly happier. Yeah, I like that song, sosumi. Hell, I could swallow Rich Girl if I had to.

I could swallow "Pump It" if it weren't for TV commercials from Best Buy playing it to death. I'd rather have "Hey Ya".

Most of those other artists I never heard of. Maybe I'd like them. Maybe not. Very rarely do I ever like all of an artists songs. Sometimes it's only one or two songs. See Gwen and BEP above.

I'm very picky about music I listen to. (When it comes to anything produced after 2000) If something I don't want to hear comes on, I hit the next preset. Or click the Next Song button. Good music died with the 20th Century.

[Closes with an IMHO for good measure...]

IMHO :)

Well thank God someone else noticed the amazing presence of The GO! Team.

I don't understand what's wrong with this *partial* list. Hollaback Girl is played out, Hoobastank is rank, but the others are pretty good songs that should add some variety to the Lumines formula. Not to mention that the songs listed are better than what fills 90% of rhythm games. Sorry that the list isn't filled with obscure Japanese techno artists x_x I still love the first game but I'm looking forward to the series moving forward a bit.

And why can't we pull up songs/videos from the memory stick? I really can't believe we let sony get away with that tripe making me listen to the same few songs in Burnout over and over.
