Oh my, yes. That thing's rare as hell. Thing is, though, that only the BOX is rare. You can easiliy assemble every single part in that package without the box and have the exact same game. So...it's kind of hard to put that into a rarity guide. I'll be sure to write a little note about the box in there, though. Thanks for the reminder!

I got that, Frank.
Also, the tray inside the box is rare as well.

You are right guys! everything can be put easily together (game, manual, ROB pieces) but for the box and the tray, argh! X_x
Do you have more info when this came out ?
Probably AFTER the NES Deluxe set was dropped and ROB was sell alone ?
One thing is sure, this got a very short life on the market.

This came out about the time that the deluxe set did. It was an option, because people could buy ROB by itself, and Gyromite by itself, if they didn't get both to begin with in the deluxe set.
The life was as short, yes. We all know how much a smashing success ROB was. ;)
I would say that this Gyromite big box is rarer than Stackup, because Gyromites would come from both Deluxe set, and this box, and all Stackups would come from the smaller box alone. You wouldn't make more Stackups than ROBs, so the Gyromite number would be split between the Deluxe Set ROBS, and the standalone ROBs/Gyros, hence, less Big Boxes.
Unless of course, Stackup had a shorter production run, which may or may not make sense. Speculation at its finest. :)

That's exactly what i said to Joe in my email. Just in rarity, a complete "big box" Gyromite beat a complete Stack Up.
This is a good thing to be add to the Addendum.

goddammit, i was hoping no one would ever bring this up....I had this...I remember begging my mom to buy Gyromite for me, I didn't have rob, but the only place she could find the game in sears I believe, and I got the big box....although I still like gyromite, I used to play with the spining tops probably just as must...dammit, I have this bad feeling this was thrown out maybe 5 years ago.
