Anybody here collect demo discs for any of the more recent systems? Today, I got the following PS2 discs:

Jet X20
Primal
ATV Offroad Fury 2
Amplitude
My Street
Def Jam Vendetta (my most wanted game right now)

I've also been fortunate enough to get some of the in-store kiosk discs for the PS2 in the past couple of months, and I still have my Dreamcast discs from the official magazine.

How do you end up with Kiosk disks? LOL Do you approch retailers or do you
work at a store? I'd love to start collecting but actually finding them is a bitch
(and whats with the Promos :) where do you find them? )

I have three Gamecube Kiosk's... I got the first two from TRU by just asking for them (lol, you never know) and I just got #7 off Ebay.

how much did you pay for them? I actually thought the Kiosk cabinets and disks
where leased to shops and had to be returned or something.

I am not at liberty to say where exactly I get these from. But lets just say that they are free and not stolen. To my knowledge they are supposed to be returned once they are done but little checking up is done if they are not. Many of the more recent "not for resale" games the nintendo made I know were supposed to be returned or they would not send out more. They seemed to have laxed up on the kiosk demos though. They are cool to have though. I do not have them all by any means but I have a few for xbox, ps2, cube, gboy, and n64. They are neat to have but not really worth going to extrordinary means to aquire.

On the backs, they only say "Not For Resale," and trust me: I won't be selling these babies!

All my Japanese DC games have "Not for resale" on the back of the cases,
and I have bought a LOT of promotional E.P's that have "Not for resale" stickers.

But I think it's only a suggestion

I got a PS2 Rez Demo disc when I was in Japan. It's a DVD and unplayable, but really cool nonetheless. It has a neat intro about the game and then shows the party/rave held in Shibuya for its premier.

I also got a McDonald's Original Happy Disc in Japan. It's for the PS2 and has playable demos of Saru Getchu 2001 and Parappa the Rappa 2. Both games are altered.. for example, the Parappa burger level is actually in a McDonalds.

Here it is:

Right now, Game Stop is giving away demos of Splinter Cell for PS2 and Circuit City sells demos like Bond: Nightfire for a penny (for inventory purposes). I got the Red Faction 2 demo there a few months ago.

Hmm i have more then 20 demo disks for PS1 because they mostly came with that magazine. Then i have around 10 Saturn Demo Disks but again only because i want to have everything releated to Saturn :)
I dont like Demo Disks that much, especially for older systems because you can get most of the games kinda cheap anyway. Next-Gen Demos are a bit better as all the games are still expensive :)
