A couple months ago, I was told by a friend that I could use a Japanese GameCube keyboard to write letters in Animal Crossing and save a HECK of a lot of time and energy. Since I trusted him (:) ) and was planning on getting PSO when it came out anyway, I figured, okay, worth it.

Went to EBay, got a good deal on one from a buyer in Hong Kong, and paid $100 for it with another $20 on shipping to the USA. Mint condition box, worked very well -- only not for Animal Crossing. Then I rented PSO and did'nt like it. Whoops!

Okay, I thought, I bought the thing on EBay, I can sell it back there. So I put it on there, figuring I could make a small profit on it (or would be happy at least breaking even) since there really were not any domestic ones available yet. (the keyboard had English characters on it)

Most of the week auction saw bids slowly going from $100 up to about 150. Imagine my surprise when I signed in to check a couple hours before the auction ended (I had'nt checked for a day) and saw a high bid of $300!

@_@

Needless to say, I was'nt going to talk the guy out of it. :) So I got $300 plus $10 to ship it by Priorty Mail (the least I could do was buy a custom box for it) and whistled all the way to the bank. LOL

In honor of my one year anniversary coming up, I thought I would celebrate by bringing up THIS -- my very first post on their boards! :D

(And I still shake my head when I think of this great deal..... :P )

Yes he did. Because when he originally sold it a year ago ( when this was posted ) You could find the ASC 2 keyboard online for the 100 dollars plus shipping. By the way I love that keyboard/controller...Its my favorite ;)

I don't even recall who made the keyboard -- it was Japanese, and it looked very official. Could have been ASC.

And yes, it ws a newbie who bought it, and he paid right away.

Have they STILL not released any keyboards in the USA? What would that keyboard go for now?

And WHY, for the love of God, does AC NOT have support for it? :angry:

You know, if someone had actually REPLIED to this back when I first POSTED it, I would have been GLAD to link to the auction. :P

I don't remember. Later I'll go check my EBay profile and see if I can find it. Why do you ask?

The ASC 2 keyboard has the gamecube controller built in. And as far as any keyboard/controller being released in the U.S :roll: That would be a big no. :angry: The only crap you can buy here is keyboard adaptors for the gamecube :hmm: For anyone playing PSO or animal crossing I highly suggest the ASC 2. ;) ( ASC II )

I used to work at a game store and a guy came in and tried to sell one to me for $150. I passed but later we became friends and he told me how much he paid for it. So I think it was him you sold it to.

Would be a small world if it was indeed the guy. He was a newbie to EBay at the time, and the bid came in almost at the last hour. He paid the next day and I shipped right after that. I hope he knows how much he overpaid. LOL

Wow.. That's like a 300% profit! Or is it 200%? I'm not 100% sure. I can never figure that out.
