I wonder, are there any huge difference in the NES version? I know that the MSX version got out first, but i always thought the NES was just a port. Some guy say there are huge difference in the 2 versions, is this true? Im talking about the first Metal Gear.
Also, was the official title for Snakes Revenge for NES also Metal Gear 2? I see the guide lists it as it, but with a side note.

Metal Gear 2 and Snake's Revenge are two completely different games. Metal Gear 2 was Kojima's creation, while Snake's revenge was Konami's attempt to make some quick cash from the Metal Gear franchise.

There's a decent comparision on Wikipedia (http://www.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metal_Gear_(video_game)).
Seems like they changed quite a bit between the two versions.

Yeah, they're almost different games.... The NES version starts out in the jungle, the MSX version in the base. The NES version features false villain Colonel Cataffy in the backstory, the MSX doesn't.....
On the Metal Gear Saga vol. 1 disc, Kojima denounced the NES version, which was actually programmed by the American team (along with disowned sequel Snake's Revenge).

I don't suppose anyone happens to have a genuine copy of the DOS version in their collection? There was much brouhaha over at HOTU recently as to whether the copy of the DOS version commonly available on the Internet is buggy due to flawed copying somewhere along the line or due to flawed programing.
