I saw a pirated WaveRace once... cheap-looking, cart was way too light, front label was all wrong, no label on the back... real poor job.
I don't imagine there were too many pirated N64 carts made. Just too expensive.

Yeah, there's plenty of pirated N64 carts. I even see them on eBay every so often, or at least I did a few years ago the last time I was watching for N64 stuff.
Memory might have been too expensive to be feasible for pirates in 1996 or 1997, but the cost of memory dropped pretty drastically by a couple years into the system's life, and I would imagine that that's when most of the pirate games were actually made. Also, people often forget that N64 games were measured in bits, not bytes, so the very largest games on the system (512Mbits) were actually only 64MB. So that's not that expensive to pirate considering the cost of original N64 carts. Those 64MB games were few and far between and I've never seen any of those pirated anyway; most N64 games were 8 or 16MB.
All the pirates I've ever seen have just been basic pirates, no multicarts or originals or anything more interesting.

Long time ago I went to a garage sale and they had an N64 with a couple carts that were all bootlegs that they got "in the city". I bought the whole set for $10. I'll take pics of them sometime, they work, but they look awful.

Yes, I can confirm that Killer Instinct is a totally crappy game, whether you get the pirate version or the original.
