I had a quick look around, and couldn't see anything relating to this auction, so here it is, it's a starfox comp cart, but it's in the original (retail) case.
there are pics to go along with the auction, imagine plugging in a regular starfox cart and have the comp cart screen come on instead LOL

I have a feeling (could be wrong, judging by his feedback,) but I'm calling fake on this one. I'm guessing that this guy might have taken a screenshot of the game of the 'net, and made it viewable on his TV, via PC or DVD or whatever. It might be a little more believable had he used an original SNES, because I can't tell if the SNES 2/Jr. is turned on without the LED. "Since I am not a collector and I'm more interested in playing the actual game, I'm willing to let this go to someone who might value it more." That throws me for a loop as well. That's my $.02

well unless it photoshoped the photo, he's NOT lying, look at the snes in the picture, it's definitly a retail cart in the snes and the competition on the screen

I know he's not lying, and I know the photo isn't PS'ed. My theory is this:
Put a regular Starfox in the SNES
Take your PC and (w/ the right video card), connect it to the TV so it can output the PC signal
Make the SNES look like it's turned on
Output a screenshot of Starfox Comp. from the PC onto the TV
Hide the PC out of the picture
Eureeka!
If my digital camera was working, I could make my X'Eye look like it was playing Halo 2.

That is an awful lot of trouble though for something that probably will not even go for as much as a mint star fox super weekend cart. Its strange, yes, but chances are the cart is legit.

There is always the possibility of a reproduction. I make snes reproductions and I've never looked at the starfox weekened before (ie I don't know if there's a rom availiable etc). There could be more possibilities than the seller is a liar vs it's the real thing. He could unknowingly have a reproduction.

I tend to agree that it's an awful lot of trouble to go through, Starfox comp carts have only been going $150ish lately, and if this one isn't mint and is weird I would suspect he'd be lucky to get half that. I think it's a lot of work to to go through all that trouble for $75 or even $150.

I decided to get it, won it for $60 shipped. Interested to see if the guts look identical to my real super weekend cart. if it has the guts from a super weekend cart, thats a pretty rare collectible.

There is a ROM out there, the game's been dumped for years. I'm fairly sure that the only difference between the normal version and the competition would be some segments of code (for the timer and such) and some different graphics to account for the title screen.
I too say it could be a repro. It would've been relatively easy to make, if the guts were the same. Just figure out which chips were different and swap them out.

the guts of a comp cart and a retail cart are very different. the comp cart has plastic coated flat chips, not normal, and also they have a small metal pin that has something to do with the timer. we'll see, nice that someone on these boards got it, we'll get to answer the question.
