Dont forget the Dual Analog controller :) Dual Analog uses 1 enigne for the rumble, Dual Shock uses 2. Dual Analog was released in April 1997 (dont know the date). Star Fox 64 was released 27. April 1997. I dont know who was first, but the gap between the release is very small atleast. Again, something like this isnt made in a few days or weeks, it takes many many months to research, develope and test. So both Nintendo and Sony were working on the rumble feature before anyone of them was released.

I was under the impression that the Dual Analog was just, well, dual analog, and had no vibration function.

Yea and how sony has the EyeToy, with that visual recognition interactive card game demo they showed off at E3!!! They totally stole that!!!! I bet Seg.... er.... Nin.... er.... Micro...er

:deadhorse:

wait

I think that was all Sony right there.

Yet Sega DID make a camera called the Dreameye (Japan only) for the Dreamcast, although beyond that I don't know much...
I think that Sony knows that they are losing to Nintendo and Microsoft in terms of good ideas, and they took one of Microsoft's few original ideas.

I never tried it myself, but Wikipedia writes this:

It was advertised as allowing for more precise and fluid control of the games' fighters. Also, the controller's Japan-exclusive rumble feature added to the realism (at this point, only one rumble motor was used, unlike the dual motors that power the DualShock). It was released later in that year, sans vibration capabilities, to the U.S. and European markets to work with Sony's own Rally Cross, but was not advertised.

Seems like the japanese version was the only one who had rumble feature :)

lol this is a classic :) I've heard a few people saying it and i have no idea how they see the simularity in a PSX and a SNES controller. The controllers doesnt look anything like eachother. It would be like saying that Nintendo ripped of Sony because both have lids to open the machine or that Nintendo ripped off Atari because they also used round buttons

I also recommend you to read the previous replies about rumble feature. Sony was most likely releasing the rumble feature before Nintendo so please do alittle research first.
