So, I picked up a boxed Super Video Arcade(intellivision), a few weeks back, and just bought 20 games for it yesterday. I still have to test out the system and try the games but i had a few questions.
What are must have games for the system?
Where can I find overlays, is it possible to print them out?
The games I have are as follows:
Star Strike
Atlantis
Motocross
Triple Action
Armor Battle
Burgertime
Lock 'n Chase
NHL Hockey
Carnival
Mouse Trap
Venture
Astrosmash
Major League Baseball
Night Stalker
Bowling
Space Armada
Demon Attack
NFL Football
and 2 games missing end labels that I will hopefully figure out the titles of later today.
And in case you are wondering, which i am sure you all are LOL for the system I paid $10.60 in Goodwill and the 20 games cost me $10 at a flea market. :P

Check the classic discussions index for the official Intellivision thread and top 25 games.
I'm not a fan of the system but IMO there are two (and only two) things that make it worthwhile:
-sports games (hope you have some friends because they are two played only)
-the D&D game (the first one, I never played the other one)
Great find though.

Sea Battle and Utopia are great two-player games for the Intellivision, though overlays are pretty much a must for both, and instructions for Utopia are recommended too.

Definitely get TRON Deadly Discs. That's my favourite on the system by far.
Thin Ice and Diner are great too but they're much harder to find.

That's a good selection to start out with. Don't overlook Burgertime or Demon Attack. Burgertime on INTV is one of the best ports of that game and Demon Attack is a completely different experience than the 2600 version.
Also pick up Boxing and Microsurgeon. 8-)

You already have Astrosmash, Burgertime, Demon Attack, Lock n' Chase and Night Stalker, which are all top-notch titles. When you finally get around to testing the system, I'd suggest checking these out first.
Other must-have titles include:
- Beauty And The Beast
- Shark! Shark!
- Snafu
- Utopia
- Vectron
The Intellivision is definitely one of my favorite systems, and I hope you enjoy yours as well.

I tell you the games that stand out for me were.
Burgertime
Bump n Jump
Advance dungeons and dragon
and there were atarisoft games that did a good job at porting. Close to 5200 at the time.
centipede, defender,Pacman
I remember being blown away at how good the port was at the time. atari 5200 style. These are good collectables if you can find them. I believe super pro football is a game that is hard to get.
I could never understand why atarisoft didn't do a donkey Kong. There was a donkey kong but it blew.

Worm Whopper is my all time favorite game for the Intellivision. That is a must must have.
BurgerTime comes in at a close second.

Astrosmash
Space Hawk
Space Armada
Night Stalker
Utopia
Shark! Shark!
Snafu
Burgertime
Bump N' Jump
Vectron
D & D Cloudy Mountian.
Tron DD and Maze-a-tron (if you play 'maze' - the little tune that plays in the background gets stuck in your head. Just a warning :D )
If you pick up an intellivoice -
B-17 Bomber
Tron - Solar Sailer
Bomb Squad
EDIT - You can find overlays all over the web. Some you can print yourself, some you can get done professionaly. Just do a google search for intellivision overlays, and you'll get dozens of hits.

I second the Intellivoice as the next purchase followed by Space Spartans, Bomb Squad and "Beesevunteeen bawmer" (B-17 Bomber, the game title screen speaks the name in kind of a Southern drawl, which is pretty dang neat considering the age of the hardware).

You've got to get Shark! Shark! It is my all time favorite Intellivision game and one of the few games that I think that should be remade for a current gen system.

Greetings Programs.
I like playing He Man for some mindless fun and the great sound.
And for some strange reason I still like playing Kool Aid Man.
Back in the day I was addicted to AD&D Treasure of Tarmin. Played it for hours and hours leaving the system on for days at a time. Now I look at it and can't get myself to play it for long.
One other game I recommend is night stalker. Slow at first but it has subliminal music to suck you in :)

I like Frog Bog and Night Stalker. I haven't spent too much time playing the system, but enough to know some good games. Beauty and the Beast is pretty good also. BatB reminds me of Donkey Kong but different level design. Commando is also an alright game, but that one can call for a little bit of searching.

Well, I need to clean the system's cartridge port out, but it does in fact work. I still have to play some of the games, but I found out what the 2 label-less ones were. Space Hawk and Las Vegas Poker & Blackjack. I realized that it may be necessary for me to search for the overlays for the games, as i have no clue what the heck I am doing, lol.

I remember a game for Intellivision that I believe was called Dog Fight. Each player controlls a biplane and try to kill each other in a Arial Dog Fight. Some of the other ones I remember being really great you have already acquired or have already been mentioned in this thread.

Sounds like one of the games in Triple Action.
Was there a balloon in the game?

My favorite games tend to be the INTV releases in the late '80s. The programmers had really started getting into the groove by the time Mattel killed the Intellivision off, and INTV finished them off and started bringing out even better ones.
Diner (best game on the Intellivision, in my opinion)
Thunder Castle (fantastic music!)
Tower of Doom
Hover Force
Thin Ice
Stadium Mud Buggies

Id have to say that Past Astrosmash (Which you have) Thin Ice would be the next best, but happens to be a mite hard to find. Just an FYI if you go to grab it on ebay and not find it :)
