I've had my PSP since launch and have been messing around with emulators and homebrew apps ever since they first started coming out. Tried a few times to get Turbo CD games running on the PCE/TG16 emulators but didn't have any luck since it was a complicated process. Today I was messing around with it again and I finally got it working. And I must say it's running pretty damn good too.

Never played a TG16 CD game before but from what I've played on my PSP, it seems to be running full speed. Sound is a little janky (heard little 'clicks' and 'pops' thru the game and at times, the music cuts out all together) but it wasn't that annoying. Was just blown away that I was able to play Turbo CD's on my PSP.

Anyway, I just wanted to let people know that it is possible to do this with your PSP. I know that running Turbo CD games aren't really talked about much on the PSP sites, so I figure there are a lot of people out there with PSP's running homebrew that didn't know about it yet.

If anyone is interested, LMK and I might try to put together a mini FAQ on how to do this.

I'd dig it.

Any emu on PSP is good emu. A lot of the setup is daunting for me(still), so any kind of how-to would be killer.

I play the NEO-GEO CDZ emulator the most. It IS perfect. Lots of the homebrew are also great. I recently put Quake 1 on it and it runs almost as well as on my PC.

Emulation is really the only reason I have a PSP. The games for it are terrible except for a few but the load times are so long that I never really played much of them. I only use it for homebrew now.

For those that do not know about this stuff, you need a true firmware 1.5 PSP to do it the easy way. Otherwise, you'll have to flash your firmware to downgrade.

No. It isn't.. But hey, what do you expect. It's cool enough to play Neo Nectaris on a handheld :)

I forget when, but someone here on these boards linked this faq page to me as to how to do the Turbo CD games: http://grblitz.overclocked.org/cconstal.htm

Although some parts are a little outdated now.. like when he mentions the TOC files at the "SNK/NEC TOC Database".. his link is no good. However you can still find them at http://necstasy.emunova.net/uk
