PC gaming.. of course. Like I said recently.. I'm experiencing a PC gaming revival and I'm dragging out all the old PC games I kept out of my old games lot up for sale (mostly mech titles); but I'm suddenly finding most (OK.. all) my old resources for game patches are gone! I'm not talking about going to the developer's or distributor's sites because many of them haven't even survived (Looking Glass comes to mind); but what ever happened to the massive huge repositories of patches for every game ever made? Anybody remember Games Domain? Sites that would host everybody's patches.. forever! (I thought) I'm still using an 800Mhz pentium w/32 megs of video memory.. but I haven't bought a PC game since Homeworld came out.. so I'm a bit behind the times.
On a side; but somewhat related note. I used to admire and worship emulator developers as gods. When I started actually collecting the "real thing" I lost interest in emulation.. but it has always impressed me how dedicated and selfless (as in giving away their work for free) emulator developers were. Now I have new gods to worship.. the guys that develop DOSBox.. they're awesome. Soon as I have some money to spare.. I'm donating.
