Hi there,

Does anyone know of a good method for ripping video from PSX discs? There are some good footage on some of them (i.e. videos from PlayStation Underground, the making of Lunar, interviews from Williams collection, etc.).

I was trying to use a PSX development tool (I can't remember the name now) but it doesn't seem to work for my WinXP OS.

I've run my PSX through a capture card too. That works but it seems if I could rip the video I could get better quality.

Any ideas?

Dennis!

Sorry about not getting back to you with the e-mail. ^_^;;

What kind of capture device are you using? You might be able to adjust the quality. It also helps if you're using S-Video than AV.

I'm trapped at school most of the day, I'll see what I can dig up when I get back home.

I did a tutorial (http://www.roushimsx.com/psxvideo/) a while back but I need to update it. The information in there should still be reasonably good and I think I've included enough photos to make it easy for just about anyone to follow , despite my layout sucking cock :)

(that said, if you notice ANYTHING missing or incorrect, please let me know)

Yes, which dev tool were you trying to use? I've had good results with PSS Plex in the past.

Googling for PSXPlex (which is evidently the wrong name...) also turned up this useful-looking thread (http://www.animemusicvideos.org/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=51333).

No problem Jason. I know how things get sometimes.

Thanks, I'll give it a try to see if this will work.

I was using Movie Converter V3.4. I can't remember where I got this program. It had to be from a PSX development site like NotYaroze or Hitmen. It says (c) 1994 - 1999 Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. but that might not be true.
