Mods: I tried for about 10 minutes to figure out where to put this, feel free to move it if I chose incorrectly.

I was in Best Buy yesterday looking at clearance DS games and, for the first time, honestly couldn't remember if I had a particular game or not. I'm at that 70% collection point where I have most games, but there are more than just 4 or 5 that I can remember to look for (it was Pac-Man World 3 and yes, I did have it).

That got me thinking on ways to keep track of what I have at all times. I keep an Excel spreadsheet at home for myself, and I export that to my website for others, but that doesn't help me standing in the middle of a store or flea market.

The printed list is too large to keep in my pocket, and the odds of having wi-fi and a wireless device handy are slim. I could check my website on my phone, I guess, but that gets expensive quickly.

I considered exporting the Excel file to a Palm or PocketPC, but I don't use either of those. Maybe I should.

So here I am. What do you do? I would like to know.

I also have an Excel spreadsheet at home & tend to carry around a copy of it with me when I go out shopping. My collection is pretty tiny, so it's only a dozen or so pages to leaf through.

I've actually got my entire collection memorized. Not to the point where I could tell somebody every single game I own off the top of my head, but I can look at a game in the store/flea market and know if I already have it or not. Thats going to change soon though because my collection is constantly growing every single week. I'm talking $100+ per week on games. I'm sure some of us here spend way more than that a week though.

Much like mailman187666, I can look at a game on a store shelf and know instantly if I already own it. It is both a blessing and a curse. Sometimes, you just want to buy a damn good game again :)

It sure is nice having a Palm Treo 650!

I keep my entire game inventory on it, works well and I always have it on me. I once bought a game from a shop thinking that I really needed it for the collection, got it home and realized that I had allready bought it at some point in time!

That has yet to happen again since using the Treo 650!

Keep your copy of the DP Guide (or whatever form list you use) out in your car when you're shopping. The worst that can happen is thatyou have to make a trip out to the car to see if you have a game or not.
