is the Forza Xbox bundle the only NEW Xbox package left?

I was just looking online to see if prices on the original Xbox have fallen and to my surprise i barley find anyone selling any new systems (online) -- no major chains seem to cary them anymore

the only new systems i saw was the Forza bundle $180 - on amazon and some other site

Have they disapeared in store also??

I think they have been discontinued. The last model I've seen was made sometime in 8/05. I've never seen or have heard of a 2006 xbox.

That's all I seen. I haven't seen a basic xbox in stores for months.

I read somewhere that Nvidia stopped making one of the chips used in it - so Microsoft had to stop making them. Not that they cared too much with the 360 out by then....

Well they stopped making chips because Microsoft wanted to stop paying them massive royalties. Microsoft has also pretty much stopped major support for the system last year. They were touting that when Stubbs The Zombie came out (Nov 05) that it was going to be among the last (if not the last) really worthwhile Exclusive title for the system.

Yeah the last bundle (or even new system release) was the Forza bundle. Good luck finding one, as i'm not seeing them anywhere.

i knew they stoped makeing them - but i thought that there was a small surplus still. Also i actualy belived the rumors that MS was planing on selling them this coming chirstmass season

this blows -- i was putting aside buying a couple new xboxes thinking the price would drop -- al la ps1

well i hope to find a couple floating around in the next couple months

I've been meaning to pick up one to salt away myself. I guess I really should get started on that. I figured to find one in a Kmart, Walmart, Target or a Blockbuster Gamerush somewhere, even if I had to look in some back woods stores.

Come on.... Far Cry was already released.... just tweaked, Classified I think had one of the smallest print runs i've ever seen (not to mention that it didn't even get any kind of press) , Painkiller I can't even find in stores, though it aparently released last week. I don't think i've seen WWII: Iwo Jima either. I'm talking something that at least had the magazines talk about, not just because it used the Halo engine (not that it matters, a 3rd person zombie game is not a 1st person shooter, nevermind the fact that Stubbs is DAMN good).

ive been out of it for a while - which game uses the halo engine?

also - yesterday i called a bunch of stores and asked if they had any new xbox systems in stock and 4 out of the 6 i called said they had both the plain system and the forza bundle -- all saying that they had more forza bundles then the plain system

So i guess its going to be a local store to store hunt - im sure this is the same every where - but it seems like there is still some time left
