I was wondering if there are any PSP pirates? I see some for sale from Hong Kong etc. that are pretty cheap.
Side question, is there a Greatest Hits for Mega Man Maverick Hunter?

I've heard of pirated UMDs in Indonesia but i can't confirm that since i've never seen it myself.

It's so easy to run ISO images of games on a PSP, I didn't think anyone would even bother to make bootleg UMD's.

Hm.. maybe, but not everyone have top inet lines to download the games. Alot of ppl down in Asia doesnt even have internet.

isn't part of the idea (from the pirate pespective) to make something (cheaply) that looks real to sell to the uniformed?

Maybe to the west. Im pretty sure that the people who buy pirates in Asia knows they are pirates, hence the cheaper price.

Singapore is no longer Pirate Land -- they are much tougher on pirates there than the US or Britain. I have a friend who got arrested and all his CDs confiscated at his house because he brought a few pirate CDs home to Singapore from Malaysia. Long story short, don't worry so much about Singapore as a place for pirate goods anymore.
But there are alot of PSP pirate games in Thailand and Malaysia. They are sold openly anywhere games are sold. It's the only reason people buy PSP in either place since the cost for the machine is so relatively high (high based on local incomes). One store I know in Kuala Lumpur was offering PSP 1.5s in their own binus pack -- buy the PSP, get 5 games of your choice free.
So yeah, they're there.

Ok guys just got some info. There are no pirated UMDs. Basically how these pirates work is they sell cds with psp isos in them. The ironic thing is despite Sony knowing about isos running on version 1.5 firmwares, all the latest psp units in asia are all version 1.5 (not 1.51, 1.52 or even 2.0 like from a few months ago).

Not sure about that. The pirates being sold in KL and Bangkok are sold on the mini DVDs -- the UMD sized media, not on the full sized media you would expect them to have if they were just selling ISOs. In KL they do sell 1.5 and 2.0+ PSPs, but the 1.5s sell for alot more.
I plan on checking with my "reliable sources" when I am back in Bangkok in a few weeks...

But if they were mini-DVDs it still won't work on the PSP. I'm almost certain they are isos.
