Has anyone here successfully burned a Dreamcast game on a Mac with OSX? I'm beginning to think that it's impossible. I did manage to find *one* old online tutorial but it said you needed an ancient version of Toast and some other application that you can't get any longer.

I can't even make copies of existing DC backup games either. I've got a bunch of DC emulator discs with roms (NES, Genesis, Colecovision) that I tried making copies of for friends but they would never work.

Does anyone here know how to make a copy with OSX or can direct me to a place that tells how? This is pissing me off so much, I'm ready to shoot myself in the head.

I remember trying to do the same thing back when I got a Dreamcast, and I eventually gave up. The FAQs always made reference to some version of Roxio Toast that I could never find. Honestly, if you want some backups that badly, either do them at a friends house, get someone online to do it for you, or buy an old and cheap PC for like $75.

I don't think I was every able to do the selfboot discjuggler ones, but I know I once managed to burn a virtua striker and utopia disc, but that was about it.

Are you guys following tutorials from here:

http://dchelp.net/index.php?id=mac

If so, I think you'll have problems pirating commercial games. Those tutorials are intended for burning homebrew stuff, burning pirated games is somewhat different. Dreamcast games are cheap anyway, so you might as well just buy originals.

If you're trying to get homebrew working, but not having any luck even with the above tutorials, a second option would be burning DCHakker and using that as a boot disc. It can boot stuff (though, again, only homebrew) from a swap disc burned in just about any way you want, even multisession discs are okay so you can add more later and select what you want from the DCHakker list.

The DCHakker images online are probably all in Nero or DiscJuggler format, I don't know if you can burn those using any programs on a Mac, if not, let me know and I'll create a burnable image in whatever format you need.

Right, but you can only use Bootcamp on the new Intell Macs. I'm using an old G4, so that wouldn't be an option for me.

@ sweater fish Actually haven't seen that tutorial yet. Thanks for posting it. I'm not good with command line, but I'm gonna download the tools tools and see if I can get a DC game or two burned with it.
