Now this is an interesting one: a Mega/Sega CD related oddity.

Check out http://www.sega-mega-cd-library.co.uk/Odds%20Pages/Flux.htm]Flux (http://www.sega-mega-cd-library.co.uk/Other%20Pages/master.htm?[url) for the Mega CD[/url] over on the PAL Mega CD Library (http://www.sega-mega-cd-library.co.uk/).

The Rarity Guide lists this as a 7 for the US version. What about PAL or NTSC-J? Did it even get a Japanese release? Anyone got a pic of the US version (and Jpn version?), or is it just the same but with a Sega CD logo?

Does anyone on here have this, and what's the light show like; is it any good?

Watch out for Flux Trax on audio only, the classic techno tunes compilation from EXP: more power to your Mega-CD!

This quote (for the back of the box I assume), seems to suggest EXP also relesed an audio CD to go with this. Anyone actually have this CD?

Eh? You plug Flux cart in MD, put any audio CD in the Mega CD and you get pretty pictures on the telly.

I'd say no US or JAP releases. Could be wrong, naturally.

It's PAL only, as the DP guide states: http://www.digitpress.com/DP/cmf/game.cmf?gameid=37345

Pretty hard to find, almost all the ones I've seen for sale have come from the same source. The visual effects are a bit naff really, at least in comparison with any of the visualisers built into later CD consoles.

I hadn't looked for the Flux Trax CD before, but there's a couple on eBay at the moment (http://search.ebay.co.uk/search/search.dll?cgiurl=http%3A%2F%2Fcgi.ebay.co.uk%2Fws %2F&fkr=1&from=R8&satitle=flux+trax&category0=), and a 4LP vinyl version (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/RARE-Flux-Trax-Vol-1-4xLP-18-Classic-Techno-Cuts_W0QQitemZ230012044343QQihZ013QQcategoryZ1597Q QssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) in the completed auctions. Seems to have been a Volume 2 aswell.

What kind of pictures? Are they scarily overused public domain pictures like in the The Make My Video games, or is it something like a WMP/WinAmp Visualization which does some funky Osciliscope for a visual???

From what I understand, it's Winamp stylee visualisations. But I can't find any screen shots at all. Very impressed those CDs are actually obtainable too.

I think it's all pretty cool. No interest in purchasing, as I'd never use it, but a nifty oddity.

Here's a couple of quick pics of it in action. For what it's worth, the soundtrack was 'Accelerator' by Primal Scream ;)
