Eh this isnt a blame sony topic.
I just have had a old ps2 since 2002 gave out in dec 04 on working well.(considering its a launch model had it for long)
Well what would be my best bet on having playable ps2 for cheap? Does the slim remodel last better than the other models?

Sony really hates you LOL
The slim models are supposed to be reliable, I'd get that kind.

I am on my 6th PS2. Most undependable console ever. Also this is my second slimline. Just make sure you get a warranty.
Is Sony still fixing the older models for free?

I have had my slimline since release and use it daily. No problems here.

I have my launch day ps2 and have yet to have it die on me,
Xbox360 im on like the 3rd unit after warranties!
I can honestly say I have been working as a retailer when PS2
was launched and the return rate for defective consoles is now where
near as high as what im experiencing with the 360, maybe its
a region thing, im not sure but yeah.
anyways look for the latest model slimline, there are 2, the first
slimline's have a few little bugs the newer ones(witch should be
all that retailers are stocking now)are pretty damn good.
