I NEVER get rid of my old systems. I love to go back and play them from time to time. I usually keep 5 or 10 games per system; the ones that really blew me away at the time.

As a side note, the GC has been a weak system as far as great games. Resident Evil 4 is probably the best that was released for the system. I'm also keeping Zelda:WW and Metroid Prime.

What is gonna save my Cuber is the GameBoy Advance Player... but that's about it. :P Keeping it for the GBA Player and that's about it.

What's the point, you can barely get anything for them anyways, And i enjoy playing Starfox and Mario sunshine.

Exactly. Why sell it if I'm lucky to even get $30? I'll box it up and shelve it before I sell it.

Mine's modded, so of course I'm gonna keep it :)

Yep. I wouldn't give it up for the 30 or 40 dollars it'll be worth when the Wii comes out. I still have 3 Playstations even though I bought a PS2 years ago...and somehow they come in handy.

I dunno, I'll probably get rid of it eventually.

i already have someone buying mine for $60 w/ SMB2 (Super monkey ball 2)

GB Player and Modded sounds like a fair reason to me.

The reason im getting rid of mine is because the Wii will play all Gamecube games~ and that $60 for me = another Wii game to buy at lauch.

I'm not poor, and I got tons of duplicate equipment already, so no. It's getting kept.

My GCN is one of the "earlier" ones that can do progressive scan.

The Wii sure won't.

So I'm hanging on to the GCN until I get progressive scan.

If the Wii turns out to be compatible with the Game Boy Player (or has a similar device available), and there is some way to play GC imports on it, and considering its compatibility with GC controllers, I foresee no reason for me to not hold on to my GC games and ditch the system itself.

The Wii will do 480p over component. Haven't seen any confirmation of a first party VGA adapter like was hinted early on, but it will have component out and do progressive scan.

Anyway, I'm keeping my Gamecube. I modded it, and I have about a dozen Japanese GC games so I'd need to hang it to it for those anyway.

I'm keeping mine, with no intentions of ever selling. I have the mario kart bundle & I may even be getting a few more of the different game bundles to add to my collection. :D
Also, like a few others said....game stores are giving crappy deals on these puppies so I will let it collect dust.

GCs are worth nothing so why would anyone sell it?

Same here, it is nice having the GBA Player.

Will keep mine. For a start I have a Panasonic Q which can play DVDs, secondly, my standard GC is modded for multi region gaming and has progressive scan over component. Thirdly, like the other guys, I have the GBA player which I'd like to keep.

Fourth and final, there's no guarantee that my Wavebird, GC controllers, AScii Keyboardpad, and other peripherals will work on Wii, and there's also no guarantee that the Wii will be 100% compatible with GC games.

Where's the "throw it in the loft and forget about it" option? If I get a Wii, it certainly won't be for playing GC games.

I am keeping my GameCube of course. I own 2 of them, and will be keeping them both.

For starters I plan to setup 4+ GameCubes for LAN matches. Both of my cubes are fitted with BBA's. Plus, my primary has a GameBoy Player, which coincidently helps secure the BBA in place better. It is the perfect setup. (both systems have digital video out btw)

The GameCube is also one of the coolest consoles ever made. And I don't just mean likeable. I mean the console stays at a cool temperature because of its unique design. With most of the parts existing within a fan tunnel, it enables the system to stay chilled during extended play. This inturn extends the systems lifespan.

So not only will I be keeping my GameCubes, but I will be buying more of them. 8-)

As i said earlier, There is no reason to sell a gamecube if you have one as you can't get a whole lot for them, But i didn't mention that i will not sell mine.

I don't even know if mine does progressive scan. But i got it 3 years ago this upcoming august 15th, So it's a model that has all 3 expansion ports, so maybe it's a progressive scan model.

lol, yeah.
I'm going to get rid of a region switched cube for a Wii.
That'd be like trading in a BMW for a fucking honda.

Wiimote? Wiitards.

Hey it wasn't a honda , it was a Mitsubishi thank you very much.

I will be keeping my Gamecube.

No way. I'll move the Cube to the living room (along w/ my 2nd xbox and 2nd DC) and put my shiny new Wii in the game room.

I certainly won't be selling my GameCube. If most Wii games feature a widescreen display option... I'll probably hook up the Wii to my Samsung, and keep the GameCube connected to my 4:3 TV.

Xizer

The GameCube is the coolest-designed console ever. Never. In fact, I might just buy all the color variants.

I keep all my old systems hooked up even when new ones are backwards compatible. I've got a PSone, PS1, and PS2 hooked up.

Hooray for having like 10 switch boxes.

Yeah, I don't play it at all anyways, so it's just taking up space. I have a bunch of unopened games -- Zelda, Mario etc. -- that I just don't want to play. I.e. all the "classics." Never touched any of them. I like Donkey Konga 1 & 2, though. Probably the reason I repurchased the system. I'm a sucker for those music games.

I'll be keeping mine. As such, they aren't worth much anyways. And as with others here, I want to have one of every major Nintendo console, including the revisions. Plus it's a great design. 8-)

I'd never sell, GBA player, and way too many good games to forget about it even if the Wii is backwards compatible.

I played that game before...

I sold my NES to get a SNES.
I sold my SNES to get a Saturn.
I sold my Saturn to get a psx.
Sold the psx to get an n64.
Sold the n64 to get whatever...

I regret every single time I sold a system. Here I am now, trying to track down the stuff I already owned!

I'll be keeping my cube. It's been good to me :D

edit: If people start unloading these en masse, I might just pick up another one too! :)

I'll be keeping mine not only because I collect systems and games, and the gameboy player, but I also like having the GBA to GC connector to let me play classic metroid on gamecube, final fantasy crystal chronicals, and the little extras in Zelda: WW. Who knows if that will all work on the wii. They can keep thier $20 they'd give me.

What did that cube to to you? Other than provide you with hours of fun? It just wanted to be loved.

I would definitely keep mine. I don't see the point of getting rid of it if I know that I'm just going to want to start collecting for it down the road.

I'll be keeping both my PAL & US Gamecubes, mainly because I'll get so little for them, that they're better off residing in my house/loft.

I'd keep mine... if I hadn't lost my Gameboy Player disc sometime in my move to a new house *cries*
