So I go to JapanTown today, and I am all excited because I figure I can find some cool import gaming goodness. The first thing I think of is getting the issue of Famitsu with the PSP demo disc in it. So I go to the Japanese Bookstore, and they have freakin stacks of Famitsu issues. Say, the current issue and the 5 most recent back issues. But with *ALL* of them, the cellophane has been cut open at the top, and not a single issue has a demo disc of any kind.

So my question is this: Is it against the law for them to sell Japanese console software in the US? Why else would all of the demo discs be gone? Obviously sometimes thieves will remove the discs to get them without paying for the magazine, but that doesn't explain them ALL being missing.

(And no, I didn't find any other gaming goodies.)

Wow that sucks. There aint no law against it. Maybe some dick took them all and is now selling them all on ebay.

Are we talking about PSP Famitsu here? Because PSP demo discs normally aren't included with regular Weekly Famitsu, in which case most of those issues wouldn't have demos with them anyway. Guess I'm just trying to make sure of the situation here.

In a lot of shops here, the shopkeepers take out the demo discs and extras to help stop people from trying to steal them.

In a lot of places, all you have to do is take the mag up to the counter and ask them for the disc to go with it.

I've never seen any demo discs of any sort with Famitsu.

I think you're looking for Famitsu Wave (with DVDs) or PSP Famitsu?

I think Poloplayer's right. Regular ol' Famitsu Weekly is too damn big for them to be able to turn a profit including discs too...

Very occasionally, they will throw a previews DVD in there... however, you will have to pay a little extra more for it. Same thing goes for the larger anniversay editions as well.
