Actually, it's hard to make suggestions when we don't know what kind of games you like and what you already own. And since several older titles are still available as greatest hits releases (unless you don't wanna buy any GH games), we can't even limit it to recent games.

Star wars: Knights of the old republic 1 and KOTOR 2, And doom 3. Don't buy Doom 3: Ressurection of evil, though.. Doom 3 and Doom 3 ressurection of evil are 2 seperate games.

Doom 3 is too long And Doom 3 Ressurection Of Evil is too short. But if you want your money's worth get doom 3 and wait for D3ROE to come down in price.

Shadow of the Colossus just became a $20 game today. I want to buy it very badly. Get it!

And Psychonauts if you can find a copy.

If you don't have them yet:

James Bond: Nightfire
James Bond: Everything or Nothing

Note that in multiplayer, the arena's nicer in Nightfire and while the 2-player coop story mode is good in both games. They're both GH titles (at least on the PS2) and are also out for xbox.

Put your $200 towards buying a 360 console.

You'll thank yourself for it.

If you only want XB1 and PS2 games, try:

Fable Lost Chapters (XB)
Jade Empire LE (XB)
Resident Evil 4 LE (PS2)
Shadow of the Colossus (PS2)
Outrun 2006 Coast 2 Coast (XB version's best, although available on both)
Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter (XB)
Okami (should be out soon enough - PS2)
Burnout Revenge (XB version best, available on both)
Conker: Live & Reloaded (XB)
Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution (PS2)

.......but I still suggest getting a 360 instead.

Just pick up Resident Evil 4 man.

It has this totally innovative feature in the game called 'awesome.' It makes the game great.

Jade Empire is an excellent game, I recommend that and Gun on the X-box. I had a blast with gun, it was kind of short though.

Why don't you just go and research what games are out there and buy whatever interests you. There are tons of review sites, and I am sure you can find something that you deem worth buying. If you don't want to take that risk, rent games. I don't know why you would want to take a bunch of random suggestions from people who may not have the same gaming interests as yourself.

And the best site for this, so you can see an average grade based on reviews from different sources, is www.metacritic.com/games

Heh I know exactly how you feel. It's amazing how few games from the 'current' generation actually genuinely kept me interested. I'll second -

Indigo Prophecy/Fahrenheit - Despite going a bit wonky, it's definitely worth it.

Psychonauts - I honestly wasn't thinking that this game would be up to much, despite it being written by Tim Schafer. Then I played it. Even if the box art/reviews don't immediately appeal to you, you should definitely try it.

Knights of The Old Republic - Not such a big fan of the second one as it slowed down a lot. For me, the first was definitely the best of the series. It's a role-playing game where you actually have to roleplay. It's not like all those endless JRPGs where roleplaying apparently means levelling up - here you have lots of character interaction and lots of freedom to choose how you do so. It is entirely possible to complete quests and be totally evil, lie and screw over everybody. Not many games offer this sort of scope.

Jade Empire - Also made by Bioware and, whilst certain scenarios are reminiscient of KOTOR, it's still a damn fine game. I really enjoyed the combat, the story and once again the freedom of choice offered to the player.

Deus Ex 2 - The Inivisible War - Whilst maybe not as deep as the first, this offers a good story, plenty of choices to be made and, whilst fairly short, is an engrossing experience from start to finish.

Max Payne 1 & 2 - Two excellent action games. The tone of the story, as told through comic book pannels, is enjoyably OTT noir. The gameplay is amazingly fun, albeit slightly easy and so the games seem short (even on Hard Boiled.) There are, however, more than enough memorable moments in both games to make them worth playing.

Fable - A fairly pleasant romp through a large and varied world.

Sword of the Samurai - Reminded me a lot of a choose your own adventure book. Combat is oddly like Bushido Blade. Seven different endings (ish.) supply re-play factor. If you're into that sort of thing, this is an excellent game.

Shadow of Memories - Another good adventure with a lot of different endings that let you see the 'whole' story. Very overlooked, but very playable if you get into it.

I really enjoyed Castlevania: Curse of Darkness which i own for xbox. Its more or less a 3d version of the gameboy advance style Castlevanias. Not much going on in the background or anything like that, but it has the RPG elements and a lot of different items to go searching for. I never ended up finishing the game yetm but it was fun for as far as i got.

Daltone, did you mean Way of the Samurai? PS2 game and its sequel? Both are cool games. Massive branching scripts and events leads to a very open-ended feeling without being presented with a huge world to get lost in.

Oops! Yep, you're totally right. I'm confusing the title with the similarly named Fighting Fantasy book.

Gaming has been actual picking up lately imo. Gears of War, Wii, Crysis, Okami. There are more than that, that I haven't even got into yet. I say just hold out a lil bit.
