I am really interested in knowing about this due to the large library.
Also, what happened to the thread that ask ppl to post their complete collection. It is locked. Is there a new thread about this topic somewhere? I tried the search function but still can't find it.

Darth Vader used to have a complete SNES collection, but had to sell it off. There are at least a couple other DP'ers who have complete SNES collections, but I can't remember who they are at the moment.
When I first joined DP and considered myself a collector (nowadays, I just consider myself a gamer that buys too much stuff LOL ), I almost went for a complete SNES collection... but I decided against it. The SNES is my favorite console of all time, but like every other console, it's still got it's share of bad games I would hardly ever play, and I decided to let someone else who wasn't so bothered by that go for those rather than me. I still have over 130 SNES games though, and there's a couple dozen more that I want or would consider buying on the cheap.
________________________________________________
UPDATE (3/16/08): So much for "a couple dozen more." As of this date, I have 188 SNES games and I'd like to get to 200 in the next few months. I'm still pretty sure I'll never go for a complete collection for the SNES or any other system, though.
(And I'm finally comfortable with calling myself a collector, since I have a lot more stuff then I did when I originally made this post.)

I have a nearly complete SNES collection. The only cart I'm missing is the Mountain Bike Rally/Speed racer combo. It's not for a lack of trying or funds, I just can't find a copy for sale or trade.

Have you asked people who are selling the bike on Ebay to part with just the MBR/SR cart when it doesn't sell? That's how I would do it. Look in the Grail/Proto Thread for at least two that have been listed in the last few weeks. One was relisted this week and ends tomorrow night. The guy keeps lowering his starting bid but its the wrong bike for the system. It comes with the box.

Yeah, I asked that seller if he would sell the game by itself during and after the auction(last week). So far he refuses to split up the games.

Did you say I'll offer you 100 dollars for just the game? Some people wouldn't respond to the "How much do you want for?" line. You got to offer some good money straight up front.

I've seen that auction on ebay but I'm not paying that kind of cash. Have to many bills and responsibilities. As for the snes, I'm missing around 10 games. All of it is complete except 150 of the games are just cart and cap only with manual. Anyone know who has extra snes boxes? As for the psx, missing around 20 complete because it seems every year they sneak in those budget releases into the stores for a few weeks before they disappear. I'm just going for official releases so demos and protos like "killing time" I don't really count. If I find them, I keep them but I don't necessarily count them as part of a total. Everyone is different though so go by what you feel.

I'm getting close to completing my snes collection, i have around the 650 mark, plus the usual, demo, test and comp carts.
I pretty much have all the good to great games boxed/complete, and have stuck with cart only for the lesser games :D
Also my collection IS american snes, and i'm in the UK, which means it's taken me abit longer getting it together, and alittle more costly, since half of the stuff i have, has been shipped from the states Grrrr! :/
But it's all fun never the less, and i have my snes collection website, starting up in the next few weeks, (for anyone thats interested) :D

I actually don't think I've heard of anybody having a complete US SNES collection here on DP before? I knew (as stated) that Darth Vader had one, but doesn't anymore.
I can't really seem to figure out why nobody (or how I've heard of nobody) has a complete SNES collection but a bunch of people (well, maybe a handful) have a complete NES collection, and a lot of members here can tell you who has it.
I guess the SNES hasn't hit it's nostalgic peak yet.
In any event, I'll have a complete SNES collection in a couple of years.

Does anybody here know about the SNES game case project? Maybe some of you can help to contribute to it. I only have about 20 SNES games but unfortunately, my scanner is broken otherwise I would scan mine.

What's special about ISSD and Super Copa is that they were only released in South America/ Latin America. There is a lot of controversy over whether or not its should be classified as a US game or not but I say what looks like a US game, smells like a US game and acts like a US game is a US game. Its tough to find a non bootleg and I'm not even sure that I know what the real deal looks like. Suppafly is the only one of recent to sell one on Ebay America but he can't even verify the legitamacy of his carts.

Some people think it had a US release, some people didn't. Some people think it is a hack or something silly like that.
I beleive it was released in Mexico or something like that.

ISS Deluxe has a US Part number, Instruction Manual with US warranty information, and info to Konami's old IL address. It was pulled from US Distribution and only released in Latin America at the very end because of the popularity in soccer games.
What the real problem is here is that everyone is going by Digital Press release lists. Nintendo releases products in regions. Every Nintendo list they have for games is for a specific region. Whether the lists on www.nintendo.com are updated and 100% accurate is not the question. The backs of boxes state where a particular game is sold, coinciding with the proper release lists. If we were to say North American releases, geographically, this game would not be a part of it. It is only a part of the NTSC list based on the fact that most NTSC boxes state a game can be played or sold in Central America, Canada, United States, etc. This is one of those cases.
It has every aspect of a bonafide NTSC release. It was just not sold in stores in the USA.
Being near the Mexican border, this game has shown up in Los Angeles game stores a few times, but very, very randomly and rarely at that.
Also, Super Copa is Tony Meola's Super Sidekicks with different teams.

I have the most luck finding it on Ebay Brazil. I can't speak Portugese, so I have yet to get a hold of one. See plenty of them over there but it would be hit or miss as to whether it would a boot or not. I have yet to see either ISSD or Super Copa on Ebay Mexico or Argentina in the time that I have been checking it. And by the way, the South American Ebay branches are set up differently than the European branches so you can't mark them and watch them though US Ebay like you can the European ones. Sucks.

The only thing about Ebay Brazil is that there is a ton of boots and you have to be very careful, choosy, and observant to get a non-boot. Did you just look for SC and ISSD or did you look at all of the SNES stuff. It is pretty cool to see all of the bootleg stuff because were not used to seeing that kind of stuff.

Looked only at those 2 games and the rest of super nintendo. I know they have a lot of bootlegs but it is fun to see. They had 2 version of the ISS with slight differences in the labels. I don't know what the original is supposed to look like so I can't really comment. It really is buyer beware. Only trust 1 seller from out there.

Do you really think the ratio of meh to awesome is higher on the SNES than the NES? I guess I'm not as familiar with the whole SNES library as I am the NES one.
Those pictures are crazy, btw. I too would love to know how much that set went for.
I have a complete in box Super Famicom fullset..that's about 1450 games, twice the US SNES fullset (around 700?). Complete in box with instructions,of course!
Factory Sealed games doesn't exist in Japan,as Nintendo games never were sealed there until Gamecube.

Personally, I do. I think the SNES has a better awesome:meh game ratio than NES. A lot of games on NES these days are pretty unplayable IMHO. Some have really aged poorly. The SNES, on the other hand, has aged better. Even the "OK" games of the SNES library are still playable and enjoyable today.

I have about 400 Snes carts. After completeing N64, Geneisis, and Nes, my wallet needed a break. A long time ago, I helped Darth Vader with about 300 instruction manuals I sold to him. I agree with Dream TR and know that the DP guide lists arent 100 percent accurate, espically now that there is more collectors out there.

boatofcar: I got the last box a little while ago that I needed (Super Copa), so I have all games CIB now, but they are all on shelves, so it's just crowded looking, pics don't do it justice, oh well. These DP guides for some of these systems need some serious updating now, though.

Do you guys think the SNES will be the next "hot" system, collecting-wise. Seems 2600 had it's revival, NES has been very popular, is SNES next?
I know I have the SNES in my cross-hairs after I finish NES(about 4-5 titles left).
BTW - DreamTR, another very impressive collection! Are boxes for the SNES harder to find than the NES? I know a lot of people tossed the SNES boxes because they were sooooo big.

I think that this is the pattern that is going to continue for a long time. As each generation gets more disposable income they will move on to the system they grew up wanting.

MachineGex: There are some SNES boxes that are TOUGH to find, but the value is just not there on them, so you have to be patient, but even so, the big money boxes are Speed Racer/Mountain Bike Rally (which is extremely rare), Final Fight Guy, Aero Fighters, and FUn N Games.
I think when the SNES collectors are older (getting close) they might find it nostalgic to a point, but the Nintendo system with the rarest boxes (Game Boy) is just not up to par with value, so I doubt these will go up like gangbusters. Cept for sealed stuff. Always crazies on those.
