Just thought I'd share my database of consoles from Japan, 95% of which is retro:

I have over 200 galleries and over 2700 pictures there. You can go to www.Japan-Games.com to see other things like my Master Release List from Japan.

That's a very nice site with some good grapics. Get a Vectrex, you wouldn't regret it. Are those Japanese production numbers next to the consoles? If they are how did you get them?

Hey there

Thanks for the kind words. There are a few items on my radar that I haven't been able to get yet, or just didn't have the funds when one was available:

Bandai Vectrex
Pioneer LaserActive
PC Engine DUO
PC Engine LT
A few of the mage rare Dreamcasts like the Custom RX-78
A couple of Saturn consoles
A couple of XBOX bundle packages

Soon I'll be ading the Tomy Pyuuta, a 10,000,000th PSX console, a Yarouze console, more laserdiscs, Philips CD-i portable, etc...

Someone asked about the production numbers next to the consoles? Which numbers are you referring to?

Ah, on the Master List page. Those were the release prices in Japanese Yen. I got them from Japanese websites. :)

Me likey lots! A page like this has been long needed. Simple, and with excellent pix. I look forward to seeing your page get more and more comprehensive.

BTW, this guy is one of the most reliable sellers out of Japan. He's American and living there. I should start a feedback forum thread for him, if there isn't one already.

I just wanted to say Japan-Games that your eBay auctions are amazingly professional, I really mean that, they are great!

Very nice! :) What's the story on that Alpine MegaJet?

Hey there

Thanks again for the kind words.

I'm not sure about the Alpine MegaJet. I had my Japanese assistant research it on Japanese web pages and she wasn't able to come up with anything. The store stamp says "Alpine Campaign" so it must have been part of some promo. I have a second one coming in so I'll see if I there is more documentation with it.

I have some new auctions starting tomorrow. I sometimes send out an email with my new auctions and other information from Japan. If you want to be on it just let me know.

Also....

My old site had a lot of background information on the consoles. There are a lot of myths and rumors about Japanese consoles so I did a lot of research to try to find accurate information. The problem was that the console base was expanding much faster than I could research. So I just decided to make simple galleries for now and then slowly add the information back in along with new information.

I have other data already done that I'll put in soon like a Regional Lockout list and icons for each console/company that visitors can download. That will be in the "Permanent Features" section. I just haven't gotten around to reformatting the data for the new site layout.

I made it the same height as the one you currently have.

Japan-games is my most trusted seller on Ebay. I bought many things from him. They are exactly as describe to the most minor details and very well packaged. Buy from him with complete confidence :)
