We'll if you read my other topic I was thinking about buying a puckman cocktail table. Seeing as it was local pickup to me and the price was right I decided to take the plunge. Paid $125 for it. The monitor is a little smaller than I thought, but it seems to be generally in good shape. Powers up and the screen looks pretty good. No sound though. I hope it is just a blown speaker, but not sure. It looks like it had 2 at one point, but there is only 1 speaker left. It has that fake woodgrain on the majority of the top, I think I might just paint that black also needs new glass top(has plexi in it now).

A couple questions? Can I just us windex to clean the screen?? You guys got me scared about touching the monitor with those shocking stories. Also what is the best way to trouble shoot the sound?? I assume test the speaker, but how do you do that??

Anyway here are some pics:

Looks like the game was cobbled together from several different other games, so that's not a surprise. Check all the connections inside the game and make sure they're good. The speaker probably isn't blown, often with blown speakers you'd hear some stray feedback type of sound.

I'd leave it woodgrain and just print out new instruction cards to stick under the glass. Or at least duplicate the existing card and put the second one on the other side, facing the other player. :)

Clean it just as you would clean your TV or computer screen and you'll be fine. That is, turn it off (and unplug it)and be careful.

Check all the connections first. Sounds like it might not even be hooked up. Could be a number of other bad connections too, reseat the edge connector on the pcb, check all the molex connectors, etc.

If you had a spare speaker that you verified working, you could swap the two. If the good speaker works in the machine, then the old one was bad. If it doesn't, it's something else.
