Did anyone else, besides me, ever have dreams that they were playing a video game, found a rare game(s), or were in one? Here's some of mine:

- I remeber when I was young (4 or 5), I had just got done playing Zelda 2, with the Horse-headed boss kicking my butt. So I fell alseep on the couch, and I had a dream that Link was in the boss chamber with the red curtains and pillars, and the boss wasn't there! So I kept saying "Where's the Guy? Where's the Guy?!" and then my mom woke me up and I went to bed cuz she said I was screaming really loud. LOL

- I had a dream one night before sunday, the flea market day, that I was at my local flea market and that I found boxes full of Dragon Warrior 2 and 3! I woke up the next day for the flea market, and I found nothing good. I wish I had stayed sleeping...

- My last one happenned after I had stayed up for a long time playing Super Mario Rpg (which I was addicted to when I was younger). I had a dream that I was playing Super Mario Rpg and that I found a secret character named Dr. Koopilous who was a crazy Koopa scientist who joined your party and could do everyone else's move, like a doppleganger! It was sweet.

So list all your video game dreams, odd or not, here.

I had a dream 2 weeks before E3 that Sega Announced the Dreamcast 2. I also had a dream that I got a Sega Saturn for 10 bucks with Radiant Silvergun.

Cripes. I dunno why but I had one during a nap...a primitive 3D racer that used 11 projectors (they looked like modern ones, though, go figure). Hooray for oversize arcade games that require their own theaters.

Coincidentially, I was watching movies off the Dragon's Lair Project (http://www.dragons-lair-project.com/) before I hit the sack... LOL

Or maybe I'm just dreaming because it's the closest I'll ever get to an early 3D arcade game :hmm:

Never had any dreams about video games or gaming. However, I am a fiction writer and once was paid a small fee for a short story I had laying around in which a boy gets sucked into an arcade game. The kid in my piece plays through four or five levels of a game that is in the vein of the Contra games. It turns out that little ditty was never published (that I know of) but it helped pay for groceries that week.

Off Topic:

There really needs to be a limit on the number of people who can have the very same "stock" avatar. There are 4-5 guys here with the King Hippo avatar, another 4-5 guys with the Bubble Bobble avatars and I know I have seen the one the original poster has used by 2-3 other people.

When people select the avatars provided by DP, there should be a feature which locks that one to make sure there aren't 4-5 people running around with the same one. It gets damn confusing.

My dreams never include video games or women in any state of undress.

I'm more bummed about the 2nd part than i am the first. :(

But i can recall that in my dreams (any really) i have terrible coordination and cannot do simple things like open locks or even drive a car properly. I'd hate to see myself try and play a game. @_@

@bangtango,

I feel the same way, and i'm glad to admit my current one is pretty unique. ;)

I've had dreams where I've saved boxes of sealed nes games from burning buildings. Maybe its an omen? Probably not.

Usually happens when I find some rare stuff in real life. I go to bed in the best of mood on those nights.

When I was young and the first Punchout came out, I could never figure out how to beat him, and then i had a dream that I was playing it and destroyed him. It must have been a sign or something because within' a week or two I had figured it out (I must have been like 7 yo or something).

Now a days on rare occasions, if I play a violent game before I go to bed, I will have a dream thats related to the game that i had played. It doesn't happen all that often or anything, but I'll have a dream that i am the main character and I'm splattering the bad guys all over the place....pretty fun dreams, but the sound aint all that great, and the splattering effects could have used the power of my brain to its potential a little better. And the ending to it (spoiler) with the main character waking up to the alarm and going to work the next morning was not worth it in the end. I give it a 79%.

This is the part where I re-Invoke the spirit of Bira-Bira; from the RGVC days. I still believe.

Bira-Bira is my Shepherd; I shall not want.
He makes me drive down The 605 South, to green pastures, filled with Flea Markets:
He leads me beside the Streets with Thrifts.
He restores my Trade Pile:
He leads me in the paths of rarity and fun games for His name' sake.
He leads me to righteous R8, R9's and prototypes.

Still has Reef Store dreams: 2600 Diner and Super Pac-Man, FC games for Animes that weren't made for that system, new Dreamcast games.
ALL HAIL BIRA-BIRA!!!!!!

Hmmm, I had a dream not too long ago where I was playing a game that felt like a cross between Zelda 2 and Contra. The player had a gun, and the level was kinda like part of the last palace in Zelda 2, but instead of gold bricks, there were big blocks of dirt. When the bricks were fired at, they'd disappear.

Hmm

I always used to dream I was on top of a center city building at night with all the buildings around me with all the office window lights on.

Probably from playing too much Virtua Fighter 1 and Virtual On.

Now if I could only include Jackie in those dreams ...

I had a dream last night where I found a bunch of Atari 5200 games that i'd never heard of at a store for next to nothing. I have that kind of dream all the time.

One of the strangest videogame dreams i've ever had was one that I had in the late '80s. I remember it pretty vividly, even after all this time. I dreamt that I bought a laserdisc player add-on for the Intellivision. I remember playing a game called "Solar Wing", seeing a green skinned chick running through a forest carrying something, and the Intellivision overlaid it's graphics over the thing in her hand, corresponding to what the player had picked up. I remember her in all of her laserdisc video quality, with a blockly yellow vase in her hand. Later, the exact same clip played, but with a green vase in her hand. Weird dream.

I had a dream this night that I'll find a Vectrex and a few games. I've never seen a Vectrex in the wlid so far, but off I go today....Although I'm pretty sure that it was just another dream...

...and as I thought, I didn't. One market wasn't even open today, for some strange reason. Did find a Gameboy Player though, so at least something :-)

I've dreamt about playing unknown and frankly non-existant Sonic the Hedgehog games (all 2D, incidentally) on at least 25 separate occasions over the years. If Sega tapped into my brain and found the level designs we'd be seeing that Dreamcast 2 sometime soon. :-p

I had a dream a few nights ago. As I was playing Okami, I heard this howling right next to me. As I looked around I saw the white wolf staring at me. She was about as big as me. I climbed on her back and she jumped into the game. We ran and eventually joined by other dogs, wolves and wolf hybrids. Some had amazing tattoed coats of brown and black stripes. There were a few red and gray ones too. A few of the wolves that appeared Lord of the Rings The Two Towers also ran along with us.

I had a video game dream last night. I found some arcade for a few bucks and brought it home. That's the way most of my dreams work out, I'll wake up knowing the whole dream and within a few minutes I might only be able to recall a small thing about it. Tomorrow when I wake up I'll forget about that little part too and be struggling to remember what the hell happened in tonights dream. The odd part is I dream in shades of color and important details are generally brighter, or something like that. But yes, I have had quite a few dreams (I can recall they happened) but can't explain what happened. :-/

I used to have video game dreams much more frequently when I was younger.

I remember that I had a dream where I was a reporter attempting to interview Thomas from Kung Fu while he was beating up all the guys in the game. Between the first and second levels, we got separated, so I had to deal with the snakes and dragons of the second level myself.

At least twice, I had a dream where I was navigating one of the dungeons from the first Zelda game.

About three years ago, I had a dream that I was in one of the Dragon Warrior games.

When I was young, I used to have nightmares about Missile Command.

I dreamt I'd see those little streaks coming down at me, then it was all over...

I'd wake up in a pool of sweat.

I actually had one last night. For some reason I was showing a co-worker Panzer Dragoon for the Saturn, and he was saying how much he liked that game, and how when he went into the military they took all his games. I have no idea where this scenario came from.

I have dreams about finding classic game stores ALL the time. Once I was in a little antiquey junk store and found a console that had cartridge slots for 2600, 5200, Inty, and Colecovision games. It was awesome. I love those dreams.

[Edit]The only dream I had about actual gaming (that I remember) was once everything looked like Shenmue. I don't remember what I was doing exactly, I wasn't "living" the game per se, but wherever I was it LOOKED like the Shenmue world. As if the real world were made of sweet, sweet Dreamcast graphics. =)

I usually dont dream at all unless I've been drinking, but after a pitcher of beer or so last night I dreamed I found a 1987 small boxed variant of Commodore 64 Castlevania. (the actual release is 1990 for C64)

My thrift store dreams always somehow end up turning violent. In one dream I chased someone around with an antique sword (that i found in the shop, no less) for a cheap Action 52 NES cart.

i posted this on its own because i just woke up and neglected to do a search before posting. so i'll post it here in one of the established threads. my apolagize

ok, well it wasn't off the wall wierd but i had a dream last night i was walking in the woods and came to a clearing with a flea market going on. it was mostly full of random crap but then i came upon this thing that looked like a sega nomad on steroids. it was white and upon looking at it further it was acually a "mini" genesis and sega cd model 1 stuck together with a LCD on the top. the guy at the both told me it was a European PAL portable system...so anyway i just kinda start wondering away (i dunno what happened to the sega thing, it just kinda vanished) and i spy a complete in box TG-16 which is something i'm looking for at a reasonable price. so i get over to the table it was at and its vanished. then i start seeing like a bunch of atari crap i already have and some random TG-16 games that i either have or that my mind just made up. I just remember one cause the guy at the both tried to sell it to me. it was called Gondo and it had ghandi on the cover. i pretty much woke up after that.

I've never had a game "dream" per se, but I find if I play a lot of a game like tetris when I lie down to sleep that night my mind starts "playing" the game as I start to nod off. I just see the pieces falling in my mind. It's quite relaxing, actually.

I tend to have dreams in which I find something I randomly desire (TurboGrafx, something Sega related, massive bins of cheap import games, etc.) but have no way to get it home/take it with me because I'm also trying to save the earth or time travel or something that makes complete sense at the time but doesn't as I'm typing it.

I remember being wholly crushed when I woke up that I had not actually gone back in time and saved a high school friend's mother from dying a decade ago while also making sure that when they wanted rid of their Turbo Duo, she'd give it to me even though I wouldn't have a clue what it was for another few years. (and yes, it was a butterfly effect dream where by saving her mother, everything had changed and it had kinda ruined my own life but I had a Turbo Duo...)

Here is one of mine:

One I had was around the tine Pokemon Diamond\Pearl came out. I was on a cruise ship with Crystal (The female trainer from Pokemon Crystal, also one of my favorate characters), and we where teaming up, beating other trainers with out combined power (With the Pokemon, she was using my team from Pokemon Crystal while I was using my team from Pokemon Blue).

We made it to the Captain's room, and discovered that Team Rocket had taken over the ship! So we fought ther 2 grunts, and after beating them, we dioscovered that they where just people in costume that the Captain hired to test us. They untied him, and he led us into a room, where 2 copies of a prototype Pokemon MMORPG for the DS sat on top of podiums. I woke up before I could see what this Pokemon MMO was like, though.

(I'll post another later)

I had a dream that my family had a time machine and went back about 15 years or so. Instead of following along with whatever they were doing. I ran to the nearest Toys 'R Us and bought as many games as I could. :) I was so depressed when I woke up and realized it was all a dream.

I dreamt last night that I was trying to find a game for a friend. I was going through my closet and I found my way to the N64 area. I pulled a cart out and noticed I had written a number on the cart. It was one thousand & something. I thought “WTF…there’s no way I have over a thousand N64 carts.” I reached in again and pulled another out…eleven hundred & something. Now I put some muscle into it and lifted the box that was covering my N64 carts…sure enough, in two small boxes I had over 1,100 N64 carts. Same for the NES, SNES, INTV, and 2600 I think. That’s all I remember, I think my dream switched to some girl action after that. That’s about as good as dreams can get. A little nerdy fantasy followed by some lovin’.
