I just bought some Sega Master System stuff today and one of the things I gto was a World Grand Prix cart. For some reason it doesn't work so I took it apart to clean it and it looked like new but still doesn't work. It has a small circuit board and one chip on the board. I was going through another box and I noticed I had another World Grand Prix cart with a bad label. I took it part and it has a large circuit board (almost as big as the cartridge case and two EPROMs. There is no label on the back of the cart and the screws are silver. Anyone know what the deal is with this cart?
Thanks, Y-bot

I don't have a picture at the moment but I could take one. I have a digital camera but nowhere to host the picture. The PCB doesn't have a name on it but it has the number 171-5374. There are two EPROMs that are marked Toshiba TMM27512D-25. They each have a sticker over the window that has asian characters and GP 0 and GP 1. There are two smaller chips on the board and one has a sticker with 1M-512*2 on it. If someone can help me with a picture I can email it to you.

Might be an advance copy sent to stores inside of those Sega kiosks.

I used to have some kind of Alex Kidd cartridge with a plain white label with black lettering that said it was for demo use or something like that. Only half of the label was there though. I guess this World Grand Prix cart could be something like that. I was hoping someone else might have seen one like it before. I'm actually not even sure if I've tried the game out. I should try it out and make sure the game is World Grand Prix and not something else in a World Grand Prix case.

Defiantly not a production board as I've never seen that one.

@nesman85 Hi Matt, what does your Kung Fu Kid have for a label if any?

yeah, it has a white typed label that says "kung fu kid", the eproms have gold metal labels over them with asian characters written on them like yours and some numbers. i think mine probably had a "sample" label on the back like my zillion 2 does since they have the same type of front labels but it probably fell off. its possible that yours is a proto and someone put a production label on it, on the corner it kinda looks like it was peeled from another cart.
