He bought it at the flee market kinda cheap, and it looked like it was in reat condition. When he brought it home, we tried it with jet grind radio, and was working fine, but was making a lot of noise than a normal dreamcast makes. Then I bring over my copy of soul calibur, and it freezes twice within 10 mins of playing it. Than Skies of Arcadia, and it starts to make very strange noises, and than freeze, and now jet grind freezes when it loads. Is there anyway to fix it? Should we try to open it up, and if we do, what should we look for/do to it. Thanks a lot.

Did you try just gently cleaning the laser lens off with alcohol and a Q-tip? That would have been the first thing I did, although it probably wouldn't help.

Open up the Dreamcast and give it a good cleaning, while your in there you could also check to see if the fan spins, there is enough grease/lubrication on the CG-ROM assembly, the GD-ROM lens is clean and so on.

Thanks.
