View Full Version : A Wii Day One, or a Bunch of Games?

Allright, I know I started a similar thread the other day, but since it was locked I can't edit it so here is a new thread.

I've decided to get rid of a bunch of my PSX collection (mainly RPG's), and I have two choices as to what I want to do with the money. I could A) greatly expand my collection of current gen games by getting a bunch of titles for GCN, PS2, 360 and DS, or I could save it all and get a Wii on day one.

It's a tough decision for me because there are a lot of games I've been wanting to pick up (especially for the 360) but haven't because I don't want to go and spend a few hundred on games all at once. On the other hand I also really like the Wii and think it will be a killer system and would love to have it day one.

Well I am the only one who voted for "Buy a bunch of games." It's more value for your money to buy a bunch of games that you have been wanting to play, than to buy a Wii and maybe one or two games.

That's what I would do anyway. Being an early adopter is a waste of money in my opinion.

Buy the games, and then if you want the Wii later, resell them.

Get a wii, AND a bunch of new games.... for your just acquired Wii!

Besides, if you buy GC games, they will work on the wii anyway, so save up a bit more and do both!

games -- wii will still be around after many wii games have droped in price

right now -- expand current gen games -- many many good games to still play (and to be aquired for magnificent prices)

I actually had the same thing on my mind a few weeks ago. I think I've decided to wait on Wii and get more GC, GBA, and DS games.

Get the games. More bang for your buck (you can get current gen games quite cheap if you look around and buy during sales). The wii looks promising, but for 250-300 bucks, all your going to get is the system and one game. Your better off just playing the wii at the store kiosks, or better yet at your friends house :D
