I've been looking around for a vertical shooter for the n-gage.
I'm having trouble finding one. I'm like ... WTF? The ngage's screen is perfect for vertical shooters.
There are vertical shooters for n-gage right? :)

Moving this to Modern Gaming, NGAGE is technically still a modern system.

I'd be interested in this - when you figure out what it is let us know :)

I've got one... I'll check on it when I get home.
None of the official releases count as vertical shooters and you're right when you say the screen is made for them. We got the other "perfect" genre for the N-Gage screen (Pinball) but no shooters? A travesty. Luckily there are several symbian 60 games that fit the bill.

Could it be Raiden? I recall playing that game or something similar to it back in the day.

The game I'm talking about is Skyforce. It uses the Symbian 60 cellphone platform (the N-Gage can play many S60 games.)
It's a very cool shooter with some damned impressive graphics... don't see how it could have been done on any 16-bit home console. It's $10 for the demo but you can try the first few levels for free. I keep meaning to buy it.

I'd say load MAME on there. There's one particular port that's quite good for early '80s games.

Wow! That looks amazing.
That's just a normal cellphone game? Not n-gage specific? Wow! :D
