Well I normally wouldn't pay a 100 points for the uno deck
but this time I will mainly because I have a 100 points left and really no reason to use them on anything else
it's all good though.

Not a fan of poker, but I won't turn away a free game. Thanks for the heads-up on this one.

Well, I am glad that this is free - even if it is only for 48 hours. But while I won't have any trouble grabbing myself a copy, I can't help but feel for all the people who perhaps might be out of town, or unaware of this offer, etc. It doesn't seem all that fair, does it?
Much like it wasn't fair when some downloadable content for The Outfit - which previously cost - was made freely available. And nobody who originally shelled out on this received a refund, which seems very unjust to me.
I would have thought that any content on the Marketplace would remain the same price. The value of the content doesn't change, so why should the price? Stunts like this will only serve to put some people off buying, holding on to some misplaced hope that it'll eventually drop in price!
By all means offer free content to Gold members, or something along those lines, but the above doesn't seem the best way to go about things. Not to mention that there will now be a heap of players who'll grab a free copy, having had no intention of buying... and given the fact that we were all wondering just how well this game would work without anything tangible at stake... this might not be a good thing.

So then likewise, if you bought Ridge Racer 6 for $60 at the 360 launch and now it's $19, you should be able to go back into the store and get the difference refunded? Same exact thing with the Outfit content.
It's about being a smart consumer. If you want cheap stuff, you need to pay attention. It's not unfair at all.

I don't recall people asking for a refund on the extra maps on Halo 2 that at first cost money as well and then became free.

I put this example to you...
If a theme on the Marketplace costs 150 points - then why would, or should, this price ever change? If a newer theme comes out, it doesn't make the existing theme any less relevant.
But for games, this is - of course - different. If Ridge Racer 6 debuts at $60, and Ridge Racer 7 comes out a year later on the same platform - also for $60 - then, obviously, Ridge Racer 6 needs to drop in price!
I see marketplace content very differently.

I wasn't gonna get this game until they announced that it's free for the first 48. ESPN got me a little sick of poker.

I don't see how it's any different. People who wait usually get a better deal. Should the PS2 drop have dropped in price a year after its release even though the PS3 was still a few years off? If you need something "now," you're almost always going to pay more. I guess I'm not seeing the difference between this and Markeplace content.

MS had said it was going to be free - as some online poker outfit was sponsoring it. They backed out - but Microsoft ahd already promised free. They compromised on "free for 2 days - 800 points afterward" which works fine for me. You can beat free.

Gah I had major problems with it.
1. I could play a single player game fine.
2. I could play a random multiplayer game fine.
But when njiska, Drexel, and Sothy all sent me invites, It would say "Joining game" I could hear njiska and others talking for a split second, then it cut off and said "Connection failed, please try again later"
Grrr.

I'm guessing the answer is yes, but do you need a gold membership to play online? I didn't know if it was different for XBLA content.
EDIT: Nevermind, now I'm home so I tried it, failure of course.

I could barely find anyone to play last night.
We need to set up a general time maybe or something.
Plus GAC left after like 5 minutes to go try on womens clothes or whatever the hell he does for fun.

My buddy and I played a bit with Sothy last night. We both lost our ass. Enjoy the points Sothy... don't blow them ALL on hookers. I'm now about $150 grand in the hole. I can see how people get sucked in and lose everything they have... its so tempting to try and force a bad hand when your luck is dry. I'm patient at first... but then I start trying to MAKE things happen, and thats when I blow it all.
