Where did the Wii colors go??

I was so wanting to get the red Wii. I was excited that they were foing to offer something other than black and silver. I always had a feeling that they wouldn't do it, but there was always hope. I wonder if Japan is going to get it, or they release a red one down the line.

If history has taught us anything, the Wii will initially launch with one or two colors (white and black, most likely), then introduce new colors as sales start to cool.

I wanted to get the green one. Is is confirmed to only be in black and white initially? If so that's dumb. Those are the two most boring colors.

Seriously,I was really,really hoping to get a few color choices at launch. That red Wii makes me hot just thinking about it :-P ...

Yeah, but Nintendo showed us loads of funky coloured Gamecubes before launch.

What did we get onlaunch day: Purple and Black. Smashing :angry:

At least Japan got the 'spice' coloured Cube. Took a while before other colours were available though.

As huge a Saturn fanboy as I am, I'm kind of tired of black hardware. It shows dust, fingerprints, scratches..

Although there hasn't been an announcement, I would like to point out that the Red DS Lite and Red Wii Console will likely be launched near each other, and conveniently just in time for Mario Kart Wii.


See how that works? The red versions come out with Mario Kart.

Nintendo only releases colors LATER on. The initial batch will always be generic. :P

Considering the lack of current DS Lite color choices, I wouldn't expect much as far as the Wii release is concerned.

Black for me, since all my systems are black except Xbox 360. I think Wii would fit right in with them nicely.

I'll probably get it in whatever generic color it comes out in, since I'm going to be too hyped up to wait to buy it, and then buy skins for it once they're on the market. Hopefully decalgirl.com will make a NES design skin for the Wii to match the ones I got from them for GC and DS (they make 'em for the Lite now too) so that my NES, GBASP, DS, GC and Wii will ALL MATCH. Hey, I'm a girl, I need to coordinate.
