Help quick! XBox game recomendations!

Help me out guys! Im desparate here!
My friend forgot his own birthday was coming up, and its today.
I doubt he wants anything, but I want to pick up an XBox game anyway.
The problem is, im mildly Nintendo exclusive, and have been out of the ol' Xbox loop for quite some time....

I need a few ideas for some quality titles out now that arent $50.
Im looking for FPS and racing type stuff that are REALLY GOOD. :guitar:

Crimson Skies is a fantastic game. I paid $7 for the copy I own. You can also get Halo and Halo 2 pretty cheap. Half Life 2 is worth the money. Alternatives to shooters are Jade Empire, Morrowind & Fable. If he like the military themed games the Clancy Classic Trilogy (or something like that) features three full games in one case. I also paid $7 for my copy of that as well. Those are used prices though.

Without knowing your friend's age, I could recommend Crimson Skies (flight shooter) and Metal Arms: Glitch In The System (shooter-ish) for almost anyone. TOCA 3 was also a surprisingly good racing game.

I also reccomend HL2, I just picked that up for myself not long ago, totaly awsome game. If hes into REALLY fast racing (and not your typical racing games) I reccoemnd any of the Extreme G games (I am not sure if Extremec G3 is on xbox, but if it is its a really awsome (and fast!) racing game. If hes into onrails shooters, pick him up panzer dragoon orta.

All of these games can be bought for under $20.

I would suggest heading over to Toys R Us. They have a lot of games on clearance. Here is the Xbox games from a list on CAG. Some of those might be hard to find since the clearance sale has been going on for a little while. The selection can also vary by store. My store didn't have the $5 Halo 2 CE, which I would have loved to pick up. I bolded some of the better games on sale.
