I was at a local shop and they had a Sega Keyboard. It's black and has SEGA on the top right - I immediately grabbed it. It's got a standard ps2 connector and is exactly the same as a normal windows keyboard. It's even got the windows keys on it.

I assumed it must have been released as some sort of promotion for Typing of the Dead for PC, and that's what I intended on using it for.

A little more sneaking around revealed they had a Saturn netlink keyboard adapter. It plugs into a Saturn controller port and has a ps2 connector on the other side. Ahha! I thought, and grabbed that too.

So what's the deal? I assume the keyboard is used for the (very few) Saturn netlink games right? Is this black SEGA keyboard specific to the Saturn or is it just coincidental? Also, what Saturn games support it?

I searched the internet and these forums and didn't find much :(

It seems to be slightly rare. I also have one. No idea if it was used for any saturn games, perhaps only to get onto the internet via the netlink?
They, surprisingly, are worth next to nothing ($10) but are pretty neat to have. Perhaps someone else can shed some light on it as I too am curious.

I noticed that - I did a search in the online rarity guide under saturn for keyboard, and it came up with a very small value. Regardless of what its worth monetarily though, I'm just tickled pink to own it :D

They're not rare and there's not much demand for them so they don't get talked about a lot. It's a neat item for sure, but its biggest fans are primarily die-hard collectors and/or die-hard Sega collectors. The average gamer or even collector typically passes on them because they take up valuable space and don't provide much in the way of functionality these days. The space/use issue (an issue for many) just doesn't drive a lot of people to pick it up. :)

well I have white JPN Saturn keyboard and although it cost me next to nothing the big surprise was it came with dragon's dream disc...

if you don't know what dragon's dream, apparently it was one of those disc that was only available via mail order for short period of time.
