Ok, Been collecting SNES games here and there for a little over a year now. I chose to collect nothing but MINT cartridges ONLY. But I have been thinking lately and I want to switch to doing COMPLETE games ONLY now. Should i sell my SNES collection (about 70 games) and start from scratch to get complete games? HELP!!!

Why not just start with complete games now and eventually replace the loose cartridges? I wouldn't sell them all in case you have a sudden urge to play them!

Yeah but isnt it hard to find just the boxes by themselves?

Just keep what you got, dont sell until you find a replacement. Better safe then sorry. You never know you might find a case alone for your mint game.

Same here. I would buy the game complete and replace the cartridge with the mint you already have, then sell the other cartridge.

Nah, people sell boxes by themselves on here all the time. Some people don't want complete games, so they make some of their money back by selling the box and manuals and just keeping the cart. Do like the man said, just start buying complete games from now on, and buy boxes and manuals for your loose games as you find them. Or sell off your loose games as you find complete copies. Like maybe you will find a complete copy of Chrono Trigger, but the cart will be in not so hot condition. You can replace it with your mint cart, and then sell the other cart.

See what I'm saying?

I see them often on Ebay. Even some of the rare or more expensive games. A lot of times people sell them in lots and sometimes people practically give them away for a song. I got rid of most of my common boxes in a couple of trades on GameTZ. I kept a few of the rare or expensive one for posterity. I'd help you if i have some of the ones that you need. Why don't you post the ones that you need and maybe we can all help you.

Why form rigid rules? If you're collecting loose, you should still buy complete if you find a good deal, and likewise, if you're collecting complete, don't pass up on a great deal for a loose cart. I think part of the fun of collecting is having a dynamic collection. I may get a loose game one month, and then stumbled across a complete one to replace it with a few months later, or I might end up buying the packaging separately, or I might simply upgrade the condition of what I have by finding something identical that happens to just be in nicer shape.

Continue buying loose and try harder to get complete! I have been in the same situation for awhile since GS and EB always sold loose cartridge games at their stores. It's been a very annoying thing so I just buy everything that appears to be a good deal at the shops and resell them at specialty game shops and on-line, this way I can better afford my game buying habbits and a lot of the time swap out crappier copies of my games.
Example:
Picked up Mario Party 2 for $5 today and resold it withing a few hours for $10. Doubled my money real quick, almost like playing a mini-stock market game.

Of course it's hard to really make profits out of it due to driving and what not, so don't do it as a side-time job.

Just keep buying - if you see a complete copy for a good price, buy it up and sell off your loose.

Personally whilst I like to have SNES boxes, I keep them seperated from the actual games - I like to play my SNES a lot and grab a bunch of carts to play and then see which games I grabbed to play. Putting them in and out of the cardboard boxes all the time would be a hassle and cause wear.

Maybe for some games you should keep the loose cart to play the game and stash a mint copy of rarer games somewhere to keep it minty mint mint fresh.
