Seeing as I'm really enjoying my NGPC as I travel round during the week, I've been looking into getting a WonderSwan Crystal.
I'd love a copy of Judgement Silversword at some point as and when I can find one. And I reckon I'll get a Wonderborg robot too, 'cos that looks like good fun to fiddle with.
There's hardly any information out there though. I've found a couple of game lists, but that's about it. And most of the game catalogue seems to consist of RPGs.
So far for fighting games I've found Guilty Gear Petit 1 & 2 and Pocket Fighter. Are these any good?
So, what other games can people recommend?

Other Wonderswan games i like it:
- Kidou Senshi Gundam Seed
- Rockman & Forte: Mirai Kara no Chousen Sha
- Puyo Puyo Tsu
The Wonderswan have a Final Fantasy I and II remakes orignally released for NES / Famicom for the system and a Final Fantasy IV originally released for Super NES / Super Famicom.
The Wonderswan had a several games based in animes likes: Macross, Gundam, Shaman King, One Piece, Dragon Ball, Naruto and Card Captor Sakura.

I think there's a One Piece fighting game too.
But most of the anime games seem to be RPGs/Strategy/Simulation. What good games are there for non-Japanese speakers? I really can't see me getting the most out of a completely Japanese RPG.
Any decent action platformers, run n' guns or anything?

We did actually have a nice thread about this system when I started collecting for it about three years ago. I can't seem to track it down but one of the things that came of it was the "English-friendly" text that appears (when accurate) in each of the games in our online database. It's probably a slow process, but a sure one.

Yep, not many games are english friendly so you wont be able to enjoy it that much if you dont know japanese.

There's lots of Import friendly games for the Swan. One of these days I will throw together a website with a bunch of info because, yeah, you're right -- really lacking in English language info on the system.
Puzzlers are great -- There's Gunpey, it's color sequel Gunpey EX, Tane o Maku Tori (B&W, menus in Japanese but quite playable), Mr Driller... There's a Beatmania for the Swan complete with attachable turntable. Lots of RPGs, but not out of proportion to most JP game platforms. FF I, II, IV -- all of which are at least playable (but of course not understandable) for the non-Japanese speaker. I like Wonder Classic (a golf game), but the menus are all Japanese.
There's a port of Golden Axe, and some games that later made it to the GBA (though they were on the Swan first) like Riviera. There's 3 shooters that I know of, 2 of which are hard/expensive to come by, Run=Dim and Judgement Silversword (though JS isn't nearly as hard to come by as it's rep suggests -- got mine for $60, brand new, and i could get 10 more at that price tomorrow if I wanted).
I've played Guilty Gear Petit 1&2, both quite fun. I am not the biggest expert on 2D fighters, but I have enjoyed my time playing them.
I'd suggest picking up a WS Color or Crystal and some of the games mentioned above. If you can't read Japanese at all you will have some problems with menus in games, but some like JS are totally in English.
Hope that was some help!

Yeah I think my One Piece game is called One Piece Swan Colluseum or something like that. Its a decent simplistic fighter along the lines of smash bros, except only two people. If I had played it I could probably compare it better to Jump Superstars. It looks like that, but I don't know if it plays like that.

Theres not a huge amount of english friendly games on there, heres all the ones i can think of
Pocket Fighter
Tetris
Rhyme Rider Kerorican
Final lap
Crazy Climber
Mr driller
SD Gundam Operation UC
XI little (Devil Dice)
Gunpey
One Piece Colloseum
Makaimura (Ghouls and ghosts)
there used to be a really great wonderswan site on the net that had details for every game, and reviews for lots of them, but sadly like a lot of great websites devoted to one classic system, its gone forever.

Interesting article on the Wonderborg (http://cdecas.free.fr/robots/wonderborg.php)

Makaimura is quite awesome. Final Fantasy IV had some nice graphical upgrades from the SFami version, but you'll be hard pressed to spot them on a Wonderswan screen :(
The Wonderswan and Wonderswan Color have nice, high resolution screens that unforunatly blur like you would not believe. The Crystal still has the problem, but it's not nearly as bad as in the B/W and Color. Makaimura, Rockman & Forte, and Beatmania were nigh impossible to play on a stock Wonderswan :( (or at least quite a bit harder than they should have been)
Also, another vote for XI Little. Damn fun series :) B/W Puzzle Bobble is enjoyable too.

Has anybody played the klonoa game on wonderswan (moonlight museum) I think the jp title is something like kazae no kurunoa or something like that. I would really love to get that game for my klonoa collection.

Cool, thanks for all the replies.
So far GG Petite 1 & 2, Makaimura, Golden Axe and Rockman are definate purchases. I'll certainly look into Pocket Fighter and One Piece, along with some of the other suggestions. And of course, JSS, Run=Dim and a Wonderborg as and when.
There's also a B&W Klonoa platformer that looks quite decent too.
What's the deal with connecting the WS to a Pocketstation? Pretty, um, obscure bit of console - console connectivity there.

I'm not a puzzle game guy, but I really enjoyed this puzzle game that uses the Tare Pandas as the game characters. What you do is form lines that go from one side of the screen to the other by shifting lines up and down. Its hard to explain but once you see it it makes sense.

I think thats just another version of Gunpey, but with pandas in it
I have 'With You' a Japanese dating sim type game which came packed with a little female plastic doll, you have to assemble.
That's the best part of the game.
