I have been to Gamecrazy, EB games and Gamestop. None are taking preorders.
It seems they are all gun shy after the 360 preorder fiascos.
Does anyone know who is taking preorders for the Wii?
thanks

doing pre orders in game stores has become a dirty word. The xbox 360 was to blame for that one. People who pre ordered the system did not even get one. Due to a price and release date not set, most places are "waiting" till the offical word comes. Even then, Nintendo is not known to have the best distribution during the holidays.

FYE stores seem to be doing it. I reserved one already.

After all the trouble I heard w/ preorders on 360, I will be doing what I did for when I got my 360. Stay out overnight at bestbuy in the freezing cold. Its fun as hell, really.

what do you do if you have to take a massive dump? would you loose your spot in line?

Just give birth to the massive dump, thus securing your spot in the line, and likely move up some too haha.

Rumor has it that EB/Gamestop has secure the laeger portion of Wii consoles after Walmart and Target (I think) broke the street date on the DS Lite...
A Gamestop manager told me that bit of gossip...
I'd camp there...
I believe any public dumping would likely get you arrested, so I'd suggest some sturdy Geriatric Diapers...espeacially if the Wii hits $169 like the newest Gamespot gossip suggests...

My FYE's been taking pre-orders for a few months now, even longer time for PS3 pre-orders. I think we have at least 30+ PS3 pre-orders, maybe a half dozen for the Wii. Be nice to know when the actual release dates come out and an idea how they'll be distrubuted. Least then we'll know what a mess it'll be.

Anybody preordering anything from FYE is living a pipe dream if they aren't among the very first 4 pre-orders at that location. Last year, the local FYE's were lucky to get like three Xbox 360's each. If that. I'm guessing FYE's might get like 6 or 7 Wii systems, and maybe 2 PS3's, at the very most.
GameCrazy isn't much better. I had a 360 pre-ordered at two different GameCrazies, and luckily I was super high on the list. I was like the 2nd guy at one store, and the 1st guy at another store. One of the stores got 8 360's and the other one got only 3.
Electronics Boutique would be your best bet if you could pre-order it the first day they start taking preorders. Of course, finding out which day that is, and then having that day off of work and being there an hour before they open is going to be difficult, but I'm guessing if you are in the top 20 at a very busy EB, you will get one. It's going to be kinda crazy.

Thanks for all the input.
Guess it's going to be a crapshoot.
Good luck to all in the same boat as me. :/

Luckily I am supposed to be the first in line for the Wii. There were many PS3 reservations, though.
