Alright, this maybe a dumb question and haven't been able to find my answer in my search here, but have never used or even thought about using the DVD player on the xbox being as I own like 3 dvd players.
My new job consists of me being on the road so would like to have a game system/dvd player with me.

My first question is if I buy the dvd playback kit for the xbox, will it work if I have the xbox hooked up through an RF switch? (The tv's at most hotel do not have the yellow, white av cables)
I didn't even think about this until now but could just buy one of those rf switch converter things for tvs that don't have the av cable plug-ins.

Also, is the dvd playback kit, the package with the remote in it, all I need for dvd playback?

dvd playback kit works with the rf pack.

And the dvd kit is all you'll need to play the movies.

Seriously though, that's one thing I never liked, that you need to buy a separate attachment to play DVDs on the XBox. :\

or Mod it.

Both modchips and softmods allow DVD Playback without the DVD Kit.

Yeah, your right there! I've had my GC with me, but am wanting to bring the xbox solely for the dvd player! So unfortunately will have to leave my GC at home for the time being.

And yep, I have NEVER EVEN thought of playing dvds on my xobx ever since buying! I guess it's going to come in handy now though since I won't have access to a standalone dvd player. I went today and got the dvd kit. Sucks that I had to pay 29.99, but oh well i guess.
